Keg at the Brewery. It pours hazy golden amber with a small white head. The nose is fresh grapefruit, orange squash, sweet dough, pine and seawater. The taste is crisp, grassy, grapefruit, orange rind, pepper, earth, pine and mild astringency, with a dry citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not what I would call a golden ale by any measure. Tasty nonetheless.

Bottle bought at the brewery and drunk at home. "My fingers smell of lime" Classic Jacob line. Pale gold slight haze thin white head. That’s quite a lot of lime on the aroma. I mean quite a lot. And, like a German vegetarian, I feared the worst. But actually it’s very drinkable and acceptable. good sharp finish. Good flavours and after a couple of impy stouts this is exactly what I wanted to clean the palate. Not sure I’d want more than one at a time, and for me it’s got too much lime in it, it’s like a kooky film, good whilst it was there, but I want something a bit more real.

I had this at Brew by Numbers Brewery I think that I had this on tap, Saturday 17th August 2013 however I cannot recall if she poured from bottle or tap, (think tap) Hazy warm golden colour with white head. Citrussy nose and plenty of zippy citrus on the tongue, reasonably bitter but nice soft carbonation in the mouth. Good beer. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov15 3.5

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, bright gold, effervescent with a large, frothy white head. The aroma has a bit of dried tangerine and pale bread. Light to medium sweet flavor with orange and grapefruit, noticeable alcohol, a bit of dry pale malts, melon, lightly toasted sugars. Medium to full bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Warming finish, lightly resinous with bitter grapefruit, some citrus rind, hay, dry pale bread. Very decent IPA.

Bottle from the brewery drunk at home. Black beer lasting thin tan head. Big hoppy chocolate on the aroma. Lots of hop lots of chocolate. Smooth in the mouth. I mean it’s good. Big flavours. Will do well on this site for ratings I think. And I like it. Big hop, big choc malt. Not ruined by being barrel aged. Yet. Even some cassis on the aroma and more in the flavour. Some lightish espresso coffee. Mouthfeel is good. It’s an enjoyable strong stout. Probably the best beer I’ve had from these guys so far. Yes, a good stout. Maybe just lacking a touch of character on the swallow. Super drinkability though.

Bottle from the brewery drunk at home. Hazy orange gold with thin lasting white head. Some tangerine orange aroma. Touch of butter/toffee. Some fruity and bitter hop on the finish. It’s a bit too toffeeish for me for an IPA that makes me slap myself in the face. Finish is pretty decent. Yep, just a touch too much dominated by the malt. Leaves the hops a bit behind. Ok.
