Black with a small brown head that left great lacing. Boozy with caramel, chocolate and nut. Very long finish. Full bodied.

Can from Total Wine. Pours a clear straw gold with a full finger of white foam that lingers. Grassy, lime forward and slightly oxidized hop aromas on the nose. Palate is very similar with a slightly oxidized note. There's no date on the can so not sure how fresh, but I believe they just entered the market in Michigan recently. Lime and pith on the finish.

Sampled from bottle at "Hooghe Noorden Tasting 2025". Dark brown to black color, virtually no head. Aroma is malts, coffee, espresso. Flavor is malts, soft roast, coffee, espresso, cocoa. Delicious. Lovely beer. A little less thick than I'd have expected up front but nonetheless, I love it.

2025 bottle. Pours near black with a brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has strong dark grains and rye with a growing roast and a bit of dark chocolate underlying. Flavor has dark grains and roast with a bit of rye and bourbon/molasses that grow through the finish.

500mL bottle, 2024 vintage, drunk 12/16/25, as pictured.
I think I get some banana, but it would be pretty marginal blind. I'd at least guess banana amyl, if not actual whole bananas. The other adjuncts aren't overpowering either, and there's a round, rich intensity from the malt, brown sugar and barrel. Not boozey, with tons of rum-like spice, vanilla and a nutty, gooey stickiness.
Rich and sweet with big brown sugar and some adjunct-like spice. Light-to-moderate barrel character with roundness and evenness from the barrel aging, but not exactly a distinct bourbon or cognac character. Maybe some light raisin and grape and spice from the cognac. It's nicely balanced, not boozey or sharp in any way. Just a rich barleywine with big fruitiness throughout and pretty good attenuation. Reminds me of Barreled Souls stuff, as it goes down incredibly easily. Maybe my bottle was a bit more carefully-aged than Chris/Tom/TJ's?? That said, I agree, it finishes a bit sweet and the sweetness builds up fairly quickly and becomes a bit fatiguing. Especially without much barrel intensity to help balance it.

Typically solid dark sauce from Bottle Logic. Notes of rich dark fruits, raisins, dates, chocolate cake, soft roast, marshmallows, rocky road fudge. Sweet but not quite cloying. Impressively drinkable given the heft.

From a 473ml can on 14/12/2025. Pours a ever so slightly hazy deep golden with a medium head. The nose features light peach and some candied fruit notes. Tastes of peach with a touch of pineapple, finishes tangy with more than a hint of sour in a moderate bitterness. Fullish bodied with average carbonation. A bit stylistically odd for a hazy, and doesn't quite come together, but interesting and tasty enough.

Bottle from Total Wine & More, W. Hollywood. Hazy, maple syrup brown with quickly dissipating head to ring, light viscosity, no lacing. Aroma is mix of banana/walnut, cinnamon, weirdly feeling like I'm getting some ginger?. Taste is strong caramel, mild cinnamon, not getting banana or walnut. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Sadly, there is virtually no banana here, which reinforces the ephemeral nature of banana in beer--drink it when it's fresh!!!!! Not bad but disappointing relative to what it should be.
