(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 20 April 2017) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, dark bread and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made porter. Nice one.

Cask-conditioned at Gloucester Beer Festival, 31/3/2017. Deep amber in colour, with a thin, white, head. English hop aroma. Flavour had hedgerow fruits, some biscuity malts and a dryish finish. Fine.

Cask at the Swan, Amblecote. Pours dark gold with a small head. Aroma is straw, lemon and a touch of harsh chocolate. Taste is straw throughout with a slightly acrid finish.

4.9% at Williams Ale and Cider Liverpool Street. Clear gold. Some foral dusty hop A German pale ale apparently. No idea what this goes down as. Some peachy hop ok. Not much condition.

Cask at the Cock, 01/03/17. Copper to brown with a beige head that soon dissipates to nyadda. Nose is biscuit malt, light spice, toffee, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises brown bread, light tobacco, biscuit, spice, dates, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close with a bitter edge. Ok bitter.
