Cask at Cocky T. It pours clear rich amber - brown with a small white head. The aroma is toasty grain, wood, leather, musty, dull fart, toffee and dried fruits. The taste is bitter - sweet, farty, toffee, raisin, sultana, wood, twiggy, leather, cereal, bit of spice and tannin with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit old-school but not without its charms. Fair.

Cask at the Yorkshire Grey, Grays Inn Road, London. Pours tawny brown with a lasting bubbly cream coloured head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, malt, hop and light nut. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness slow to develop. Medium body, sticky texture. Soft carbonation. Finish is sweet and nutty. A very tasty bitter.

Cask @ Yorkshire Grey, London. Golden-amber with a small head. Mildly malty easy enough drinking ale with a small sweetness. Passably sessionable, although not at the price in the pub in which I found it!

Bottle @ The Oxford, Kentish Town, London. Pale golden with a thin head and a small carbonation. Has a very stated pilsner aroma and taste that lingers long, with a notable dryness.

Lightly hazy gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, very modest carbonation. Smooth malts with light creamy sweetness. Smoke! Bloody smoke! Grinds my gears when brewers put smoked malts in a beer like this without saying so on the bottle. Modest ripe orange hops. Semi dry finish. Smoky linger. Exasperating.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Offie and Toffee. Pours clear, amber-gold with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has notes of ripening citrus, toasted grains, orange peel, tobacco ash and leaves. Medium sweet flavour with more ashy notes, lightly bitter citrus peel, sugary grains, minerals. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with more grainy and crackery malts, ashy off-note, leaves, orange peel, some berries, toasted sugars, aged pine. Really messy. If I was a homebrewer and this was my first attempt, I would be disappointed in myself.
