Bright clear gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is light, dry and mildly crisp. Thin malts, a touch of lactose sweetness. Thin citrus but fairly bitter. Bitter citrus peel and pith. Floral bitterness. Light semi dry finish. Long pithy bitter linger. Robust!

Half pint, cask at William Wilberforce (JDW), shared with Finn. Decent lacing from a pearl white head. Clear golden body. Ripe fruity nose. Flavoured with citrus with grapefruit to the fore. Resinous bitterness to the finish. Medium bodied. Pleasant (Hull 25.11.2015).

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of black jacks, liquorice, molasses. Taste is almost meaty, beef stew, liquorice, tar, treacle, dark chocolate, leather. Rich body and mouthfeel. Tarry, long finish. Lots of dried fruit coming in at the end. Surprisingly good for the strength. Drinks like a 10%er. Grand.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear golden with a short-lived white head. Aromas of light grapefruit, some booze notes. Taste is light bitter, citrus. Expected more of a hop hit to be honest.
