330ml bottle as "Black" from Home Farm shop, Beningbrough, Yorkshire. Dark reddish-brown black colour, foamy tan head leaving lacing, with aroma of tropical fruits, hops and roasted malt. Taste is juicy fruits, citrus, hoppy along with roast malt, coffee and some earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasted tangy bitter finish. Quite drinkable black IPA.

Cask @ Stick Or Twist, Leeds. Extremely dark, but not quite black. Has a frothy off-white head. Has a mixture of spice and dense winter fruits, with the latter dominant. There’s plenty of dark malts here too. A decent Xmas ale.

Bottle. Trembling Madness Drinks Shop, York. Clear, very deep red. Film of clingy, tan head. Fruity, tangy, smoked malts. Smoke comes across ashy, and lightly savoury. Some grassy hop on top, to boot. Taste is smoky, lactic sweet. Gets fruity bitter. There are plenty of hops in this. Light body, without being thin. Tangy bitter finish. Tasty gear.
