Description
Wild Card Brewery was founded in 2012 at the Ravenswood Industrial Estate Walthamstow.
We brewed Mon-Fri and come the weekend, we would open the brewery doors and serve up our beers. With support from the local community our shed became one of Walthamstow's best loved bars, hosting beer festivals, tap takeovers and live music.
Meanwhile, in the brewery, Jaega was working away, tweaking old recipes and coming up with new ones. By 2017 she had 2 award winning beers under her belt and was struggling to make enough beer to keep up with demand - we were going to need a bigger brewery. So in 2017, we started a crowdfunding campaign to help us move the brewery to a bigger site.
In 2018 the brewery moved over to Lockwood Way, where we have doubled capacity - which means lots of Wild Card beer for all.
Wild Card Brewery now has two tap rooms in Walthamstow, and our beer is available in pubs, bars, restaurants and supermarkets across the UK.

Bottle shared at the rar date tasting, thanks to Kenneth, CBJ 29/02/2024.
Black with a tan cap that thins to the edge.
Nose is bitter roast, dried fruits, earthy tones, booze tunes, ashen nip.
Taste comprises mellow roast, toffee, chocolate shavings, dried fruit rinds, charr.
Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Tidy old skool sipper.

25th February 2024
Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly dark tan head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, mildly cake like dark chocolate. Mild dark malt cream. A rich ripe dark fruitiness underneath. Some spice and modest bitterness on the finish. A good straight up Impy. So many impies are barrel aged or pastried these days, you almost forget what a straight one tastes like!

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Elusive online. Pours lightly hazed pale yellow-gold with a billowing, foamy white head. Bit over-carbed, it actually gushed a bit at the open. Light sweet flavour with subtle citrus rind notes, a little tropical vibe, pale bread, low bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Alright finish, more pale bread, subdued citrus, mellow rindy bitterness, accents of pine needles. Basic but drinkable enough.

Tight white head on a hazy pale golden coloured body. Zest, earthy & cereal aroma. Medium to thin bodied, soft with a well carbonated clean back. Mango, unripe stone fruit, earthy & citrus pith tastes. Easy going.

440ml can. Pours almost black with a huge beige head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate, pine, berry fruits. Taste of roast malts, berry fruits, chocolate, pine, grapefruit peel, even a hint of smoky ash, bit of everything really, leading to a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Great BIPA.

One-third, tap at Mother Kelly's Tottenham. All black body, remaining tiny beige head, dotted spots on the glass. Inviting tropical fruity aromas, added by dark malts. Fresh malt-fruity taste of dark chocolate malts, mango, and citrus. Long-lived finish with a little roastiness. Mouthfilling. Nice one, innovative. (London, 07.12.2023).
