Owned by
Molson Coors
Associated Venue: Birrificio Ostiense Artigianale
Established in 2004
We were born in 2004 on the seashore of Rome thanks to the love (and passion) for beer made with artisanal methods of our founders, Elio Miceli and Massimo Salvatori, who produced raw beer without any treatment at their Brew Pub located in Ostia on the Roman coast, right in front of the sea.
Then in 2005 thanks to the skills achieved, the experience gained, but above all thanks to the meeting with the master brewer Ioan Bratuleanu, we began to broaden our range of action by increasing and diversifying production. The great demand of our beers led us in 2010 to the opening of our plant in Fiumicino, a few kilometers from Ostia, effectively inserting us into the market of producers of craft beers with our brands Birradamare and Birra Roma.
In July 2017 Birradamare became part of the international Molson Coors group.

Bottle from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Cloudy dark amber, not what it says it should look like on its label. but it has been sat in my beer cellar for a couple of years so might be a lot of sediment in the mix. Lager styled ale, it does taste like lager with an initial small bubble-gum sweetness, with a hint of fruit after a while.

Bottle from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Darker golden with a small head. Hoppy, mild fruity, it's herbal spices are a little more dominant than these. This also dominates its aroma

33cl bottle; BBE May 2019. Obtained from Booth's Supermarket in Knutsford; drank at home on 29th June 2018 during a random tasting session with myself. Slight haze to the golden pour, snow white crown. I really enjoyed this but couldn't find and artichoke esters or flavours (thank goodness), same could be said about the rosemary although there was a floral/herbal twang about both the aroma and taste. Difficult to pin point what I liked about the beer, or pigeon hole it style wise, but I would certainly buy again.

Nem annyira veretes mint Néró testvére de azért ez is megsuvegelendő próbálkozás.

33cl bottle; BBE Dec 2019. Poured into my huge 'Judas' glass at home on 20th June 2018, the second beer of a random tasting session with myself and no one else. Hazy amber, off-white blanket of foam on top. Hop first and bitter throughout. Decent.

33cl bottle; BBE Apr 2019. Poured into my huge 'Judas' glass at home on 20th June 2018. First beer in a random Italian/Belgian tasting session with myself and no one else. Misty pour, old gold in colour, smooth white blanket of tight bubbles for a head. The nose has both fruity esters and a yeasty aroma, a little caramel/malty molasses in there too. Taste also slightly fruity, semi-bitter and yet with a good malty base before again giving way to some mildly bitter hop flavours.

Can’t beat that, cold beer on a hot day. Chilling on the patio, with a view of the Stade Olympique.
