Description
Oakshire is a is a community inspired small batch brewing company privately owned by the family and friends of our company’s founders. Oakshire operates a small, 4,000 square-foot production brewery in Northwest Eugene, as well as the Oakshire Public House in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood and the Oakshire Beer Hall in the Concordia/Cully neighborhood in Northeast Portland.
Eugene was chosen as Oakshire’s location in part due to the accessibility of clean, soft water from the McKenzie River. Since 2013, Oakshire Brewing has partnered with our local land conservation group, the McKenzie River Trust. One percent of Watershed IPA sales revenue is set aside for the protection of local watersheds in the territories where the beer is sold, helping to preserve the clean water that is so vital to our community and our beer.

Bottle shared by someone at Oakquinox. Pours with a near black body and an off-white head. Aromas are vegital, espresso, coffee, earthy and chocolate. Flavors are a touch sour, thin, watery, coffee, earth. Very watery, thin, light bubbles. Could be the start of an infection.

Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Poured a clear amber red with a gray head that dissipated completely. Aroma had a nice balance of caramel and pine hops with a bit of a sweet grain backbone. Flavor had much less of a hop presence and was a bit one note with cookie, sweet grain and caramel.

Draught. Poured red black with thin fast dissipating head. Aroma is hop citrus, toffee and smoke. Medium to light body. More toffee and sweet malt. Lasting finish, with enough hop to keep from being sicky sweet.

Not a usual combination for these parts, a smoked helles bock. Smoked malty aroma, rather like a good braai. Malty flavour with a smoky edge, but not overwhelming. A good malt finish again with a hop bite and a bit of sugar.
