Description
Grafton Brewing Company is named after the Grafton Hotel on Gateford Road in Worksop. The Grafton was built in 1865 by a gentleman called Joseph Gardside. Joseph Garside was one of the founders of Worksop and Retford Brewery.
The multi award winning micro brewery, Grafton Fine Ales was founded, formerley known as Grafton Brewing Company in 2007. The first brewing premises were behind the Packet Inn on Bescoby Street in Retford, Nottinghamshire. We acquired our brand new premises in May 2014 back in Worksop after we outgrow our previous premises. Which also saw us increase our plant size from a 5 barrel plant to a 15 barrel plant for us to keep up with demand.

6/10
Easy-drinking session golden ale. Definitely needs more hops but clean and well made.

Cask at the Devonshire Arms, Cambridge. Golden-brown and fairly flat looking. Faint aroma of apple, tea and grain. Sweet and slightly fruity taste with a bitter edge. Finish is too sulphurous, but all around a drinkable if extremely unexciting ale.

On tap at Ritz JDW, Lincoln. Almost black colour with a beige head. Aroma suggests it will be very caramel sweet but the taste is more subtle and has vanilla and fruit.

Cask @ Microbar, Manchester. Golden with a thin head, and slightly thin tasting too with its hoppy-fruitiness. It does have a relatively smooth tasting texture and some berry-sweetness in its nose.

Can courtesy of at Helen and Geraint (thanks you two!) consumed at home Sunday 20th December 2015 Apricot and cleaning fluid mingle on the nose (weird comboโ) if it were just the former it would have been great, sadly it has a strange chemical taint. Colour is mid amber with a white head. Itโs ok, there is a clear apricot flavour trying to assert itself but the same chemical flavour that upset the aroma also ruins the flavour, I have had a lot worse, but this is a drain pour Iโm afraid. Can courtesy of Geraint and Helen, thanks you two! Consumed at home Tuesday 10th November 2015. Pours light gold a touch hazy with a thin white head. Light fruity touch but a touch watery and thin for the abv, it is difficult to get to disappointed with this as there is very little to get disappointed about, itโs just rather bland and certainly not crisp.
