Description
Proudly Brewed in Yorkshire since 1999

The award-winning Salamander beers was founded in 1999. Dr Daniel Gent (a doctor of brewing and one of Salamander's founders) mission was to bring high quality independently brewed beer to the masses. To this day Salamander continues to surprise and delight its many customers.

And we haven’t lost our touch for beer either.

Brewing ceased in early 2019 and restarted in late Summer 2021.

Handpull cask at the King's Head, Leicester. Dark gold, clear with a tight white head, lots of lacing on this puppy. Light fruity and medicinal smell: antiseptic and orange peel. I was expecting an ultra-astringent taste but it's fairly balanced up to the finish, where the bitter hop oils rest on the tongue. A very English IPA-type thing.

Cask at the Sparrow, Bradford. It pours clear golden with a sturdy white cap. The aroma is biscuit, toasty grain, cereal, leather and grass. The taste is dry, bitter, biscuit, cereal, toasty grain, bit of grass, twig, leather and a twist of lemon. Average body and fine, foamy carbonation. Undeniably traditional, but enjoyable when it is as well kept as this.
