Description
The brewery was founded in 2012 in Huddersfield. The name was chosen by the founder of the business who was a former Navy serviceman. A ‘bosun’ is one of the oldest ranks on a ship, and is responsible for the ship’s maintenance and upkeep.

Relocated to Wetherby in June 2021

Wakefield Beer Festival 2018. Near black and thin tasting with its maple very light. Stout character is missing.

19th May 2018
Chinook, Equanot, Cascade and Simcoe hops. Clear amber beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Light malts, thin creamy vibe and a fair bit of slightly bitter caramel. Ripe citrus and bitterish citrus peel. Touches of floral bitterness and hop spice. Light semi dry finish. Spicy bitter linger. Comes over as a well hopped ESB.

Wakefield Beer Festival 2017. Blonde with a stated aroma of raspberry and an overbearing taste in this respect, although its texture is palatable enough.

Cask @ The Pub, Todmorden. Golden with a creamy-frothy head. It's hoppy with a grainy-malty bitterness to it.

Cask @ Commercial Inn, Sowerby Bridge. Golden with a creamy head. It's hoppy with a palatable strength to it, fairly smooth, with a sweetness in its aftertaste. Has a sugary nose.

ABV: 3.8%. Clear dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted, roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, wood. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, fruity malt, dark malt, toasted - roasted, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171013]

Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Purplish black/brown with a small ring of khaki head. Malty scent with chocolate and hazelnut notes.sweet taste with just a touch of balancing bitterness toward the finish. Aftertaste has a vegetal note to it, and the body is thin. It's okay.
