Pours black with a large head.Nose shows roasted malt, coconut essence, dry cocoa. Coconut is a bit over the top.Flavours include dry roast, soft chilli heat and a big coconut hit.

From a 330ml bottle on 27/6/2015. Pours a light golden with a smallish head. Has a light spicy, citrus fruit nose. Flavour wise, it’s very lemony, but also features a fair bit of sweet citrus, which is countered by a reasonably firm bitterness, with some bready malt in the background. The palate is slightly sticky and the carbonation a touch above average. Relatively simple and straight forward, but quite refreshing and enjoyable.

Taster at GABS 2015. Not particularly sweet (for a sweet stout) but nicely smoky. I really like the chilli in this, it tastes integral not an afterthought. Very inventive and yes, it does taste a little like a lamington.

Pours gold with a quickly fading head.Nose shows soft spicy and melon-like hops with some cardboard malt notes.Cleaner malt profile in the way of flavours, with some more spicy and herbal hops too.

Bottle. Very pale gold with a white head. Delicate passionfruit and peach bubblegum aroma, mandarins, some other tropical fruit, an odd vinous note like aged Semillon. Light bodied. Moderately sweet with all the fruit, lime leaf and that strange white wine note that makes it come across as simultaneously fresh and stale. Quite dry at the fairly bitter finish. Citrus and a little pepper there too. A bold and rather weird beer.

On taster at GABS Melbourne: a lot of chilli on the nose, which certainly prepares you for the whack you get on first mouthful. The chilli isn’t almost too overwhelming, especially as it leaves the expected lingering aftertaste. Coffee and chocolate notes are well-matched.

Bottle #446 of 700. Aroma is brown ale on steroids, with plenty of alcohol warmth also evident. Despite the ABV kick, taste is smooth and woody, and a hint of molasses sweetness. Pours out clear dark brown with fast disappearing beige airy head. SmalI hint of dry nutty flavor lingers.

750ml bottle 446 of 700 thanks to Steve for hauling this back from Australia. Pours out a dark brown topped with a tan head. Nose is malts nutty notes vanilla and some sweetness. Taste is more of the sweetness malts wood nuttiness.

Small, but dense beige head on the pour. Subdued aroma leads into mild sweet stout territory, very creamy, more milk chocolate than dark. Very gentle dark roast grains here, nothing biting or lingering.
