2008-03-04, draught at Bishop’s Arms, V. Hamngatan, Göteborg, 6-4-6-3-12=31
Black color; creamy head. The aroma is not only roasty, but also breadish. The mouthfeel is medium-thin and dry, with a lean roasted malt flavor. Well, you know it, not my kind…
2007-11-09, 7-4-7-3-15=36, draught at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen
Dark color with red shades, strong chocolatey aroma. Good body strength, strong flavor, mixing caramel, dark chocolate and some roasted malt, a bit of sweetness and the bitterness is just above the average. Chocolate drink. As usual a good beer from Dugges.

Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse N.68, Stockholm, 2007-09-10, 7-4-7-3-14=35
Creamy aroma, cappuccino and barley coffee (you can find it in Italy...), clean, burnt log. Thick, oily, quite balanced mix of roasted malt, caramel, liquorice, sweetness. Maybe there are a bit too much ashes at the end. Much better than the one that I had the day before; strange but good.
Draught at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö, 2007-09-09, 5-4-4-2-8=23
Black color, with a nice creamy cap. Aroma of roasted malt, but also wet cardboard and ashes, too strong. Strong body, thick, smooth, a bit oily; there are sugars and a lot of roasted malt, and a touch of liquorice, also good hopping.
All this would make a very good beer, but it really tastes as if I’m sucking up an ashtray! Horrible feeling.

Dark amber color; thin creamy cap. Very nice hoppy aroma, fruity over all, but also a bit resiny, and with a milky fudge touch. Very good body, not sticky, but with a good sweet caramel and malt flavor, complemented by the strong hopping, balancing between subtle fruitness and elegant resins. Needless to say, the final is very long and strong, still with some sugars to moderate the hops. Excellent.

Hazy orange to light amber color; creamy head. Nice hop aroma, English style, creamy, fudge, nettles; buttery. The body is not too strong, some caramel/toffee flavor, a bit metallic, with strong bitterness (maybe too much bitter an harsh at the end).

Draught, 8%. Soapy, citric aroma from the hops. Clear dark brown, chestnut colour. Creamy, very stable light brown head. The flavour is also soapy, a little perfumy. The hoppiness gets a little sour and rough in the finish. Seems a little green, I think I would enjoy it more after a year’s cellaring.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 28 Sep 2007) Dark brown colour with hints of black and ruby. Brief brown head. Full, malty nose with roasted coffee, wood, dried fruit and prunes. Vinous. Full, malty taste with chocolate, dried fruit, vanilla and loads of coffee in the finish. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel, almost cloying (just to say "full bodied" doesn’t seem to suffice). Obviously very sweet, actually too sweet for me. It’s a nice beer now, but give it a couple of years and it might be stunning.
