Grabbed 4 pack from rest stop in NH couldn’t resist new brewery op. Clearish orange and large head. Nose is faint pine and fruit punch. Tastes are subdued pine and red fruits, light malt and floral. Watery palate. Bland.

Can from the Packie. Lightly hazy deep straw with a bubbly white head that slowly recedes. Bready crackery maltiness, earthy floral hops with hints of green apple and aspirin. About par for Liars Bench.

16 oz. draft at Cornerstone Pizza & Craft Beer. Mild fruit throughout the sip. The effervescence of the mouth makes it feel alive. No bitterness with a crisp, dry texture. This ranks in the higher end of the style form what I have sampled.

Taster pour at the brewery. Appearance is opaque black with ruby highlights, no sparkle, small foamy beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is bready malt, and perfumey/spicy musky soap. Taste is bready malt, floral, earthy. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, interesting, though interesting doesn't always work. Maybe would be better thought of as a flavorful black IPA.

Taster pour at the brewery. Appearance is opaque black with a thin ring of light brown head and no sparkle or lacing. Aroma is rich cabernet sauvignon notes, spice, lightly sour and oaky. Taste is tart (almost sour) and oaky (chardonnay-like). Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Alcohol hidden well. Overall, maybe a Belgian stout really isn't supposed to taste like a stout but the base stout is pretty much entirely covered up--this is all tart and oak. Aroma was intriguing and if all that had complemented a discernbile base stout, then this would be fantastic.

Taster pour at the brewery. Appearance is clear gold with no sparkle, thin ring of off-white head and no lacing. Aroma is herbal and peach. Taste is herbal, pine and mainly bitter. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and dry, bitter finish. Overall, this was OK for me. Nothing bad, but kind of old school.
