Purchased at Binnys in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home tired after a Monday work day, playing on my new computer. I must say this is an extremely intriguing beverage, and I’m not sure if I like it, but I am intrigued. Appearance is a weird golden green, clear, with a very small white rim that is bubbly. First non-marketing gimmick green alcoholic beverage I’ve had. Aroma is a mixture of citrus hops, honey, and wine yeast, actually a rather unpleasant smell. Taste goes down like a cider with honey / mead notes as well as a hop flavor, but it doesn’t have the same bittering effects that hops adds to beer. It’s more like that beer additive flavor, like it tastes like hops, but it doesn’t feel like hops. In all honesty it’s not bad, but it feels like I’m not drinking an alcoholic beverage, rather a weird potion derived from a secondary world. Strange, strange beverage.

Bottle. Pours clear, light yellow with a tiny fizzy white head. Aroma is honey, mango, pepper. Taste is lightly sweet with notes of honey, mango and pepper spiciness. Almost more like a cider than a mead due to very light body and high carbonation. Interesting, not going out of my way to find it again.

Purchased at Evolution Liquors in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home while watching playoff hockey and setting up a new laptop. Appearance is like a light cherry juice, lots of carbonation at first that dissipates like 7-UP. Aroma is a nice blend of cherries and honey, kind of smells like a soda though. Taste has a nice light tartness, moderate carbonation, finishes dry, but is very easy drinking, also can taste the honey effect of this. Overall this is pretty great, I don’t know if it met my expectations because I was expecting something outstanding, but it is very good...maybe not $10 a bottle good though.

Pours clear, bubbly champagne gold with a minimal white head. Aroma is honey, mango. Taste is sweet honey with a slight tropical tartness.... A hint of black pepper after a bit.....pepper just keeps growing for minutes after. Excellent.

Had this back at the RBSG 2010 Grand Tasting. Lovely, huge, fruity aroma of peach and a bit of citrus; really big. Sweet-ass but not cloying flavor of honey, licorice. A lovely, refreshing mead.

Fresh ripe cherry nose, honey underneath. Clear orange, fizzy pour, little visible carbonation in the glass.Cherries from start to finish, honey appears only at midpalate. Straightforward, but very tasty and superbly well done. NIce soft carbonation. Lovely.

Marigold, daffodil, and rubber nose. Pale yellow, fizzy pour but little carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass. Carbonation is felt on the palate though. Lemon-lime and honey flavor, with abundant floral hop notes, daffodil, marigold, and lilly. A subtle appearance of cantaloupe is a very nice touch. Very different and enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow. Nice sheen left on glass. Nose and taste of high quality honey nectar, beeswax, florals, vanilla and oak. Hint of orange zest. Finishes with a whisky-like alcohol burn, but well balanced and pleasant. Not overly harsh.

Sample at the Memorial Day Deck Beers tasting on 05/27/2013: Thanks to JaBier for sharing. Pours a clear pale golden color with no head and decent legs. Aroma of strawberries and yeast. Medium body with a syrupy strawberry flavor along with a touch of vanilla. The finish is sweet with a berry aftertaste. Decent overall.

0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a clear pinkish hued peach orange one with a thin quickly sidesticking white top. Smells of cherries, rose water, orange zest, apple wine and grapefruit. It has a soft to average cider carbonation and a surprisingly thin mouthfeel. Cherries, grapefruit, blood oranges. The apples is dominating, but it has a honey sweetness in the background. Something that reminds me of flour in here as well. A different hybrid that reminds me a lot of... well, a soda/alco pop? 20.03.2013
