$8 bottle from Liquor Land in Dorchester. 6% ABV on label. Poured into an Ommegang chalice. Color caught in between pink & peach. After the initial burp, it sits pretty still. Smells prominently of cherry skins & tart cider, with some yeast & sulfites on the trail. Taste is waxy, with a generous amount of cherry. Half tart apples bring up the back end, but the pie filling continues through. Absolute finish dries out with some grain flavor. Body has some slight thickness & a light buzz of carbonation. Kind of like half flat soda. This is probably the best cherry cider I’ve every had. Doesn’t cut it as a mead though. Quite silly & stubborn of whomever is in charge to keep this bottle listed in the directory. Though I am obviously just as weak willed, taking the opportunity to seek it out & rate it. :P Tasty.

Bottle thanks to travita. Pours with a very pale, peachy hued body with a small white head. Aromas are of cherries, plastic, honey, medium alcohol, and a bit of stone fruit. Flavors are sweet, pie cherries, grassy. Light fruit, a bit of apple. Medium sweet throughout, medium bubbles, lighter bodied.

500 ml bottle thanks to Bigmmartin. Pours a beautiful pink hue with some legs, looks like a wonderful wine. A sweet fruity nose with both apples and cherry apparent, some light vanilla. The flavor is awesome; all the richness of a Ice Cider in a lower gravity form: sweet fruity flavor mix between a ripe apple and tart cherries, very well made, something like vanilla. Very drinkable, insanely so. Damn good. I need a flagon of this.

500 mL bottle. Pours a clear pale straw. At first, there is indeed a big whiff of IPA-like hops, I was quite impressed, but unfortunately it quickly subdues as the carbonation goes down. Flavor fortunately does have the same IPA quality of citrusy and grassy hops, with a mildly sweet honey background taking the place of the malts. I thought "IPA-style mead" might be a stretch and wasn’t sure what to expect, but they really weren’t kidding! Well done!

Nice, though it took a minute for this to really sink in. The nose was very light and restrained but closer examination revealed a nice soft honey tone. Color was a pink salmon type color, light effervescence. Flavor was semi-sweet honey up front, light and restrained, light mouthfeel, hints of sour cherry and a semi-dry finish. In the end the honey notes were light but quite pleasing, and the cherry added a nice touch.

Pale cherry. The aroma is light cherry and hints of mead. Balanced and clean with light fruitiness. Very light carbonation. Sweet honeyish finish with light fruitiness. Not a ton of complexity, kind of an introductory mead. A little to populist for my tastes.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a snifter. Pours crystal clear, no head, no lacing, medium/light body, light syrupy texture, and aroma is colgne and vanilla. Taste is cinnamon, some vanilla, some honey, some colgne, some warming alcohol, and finishes alcohol. Be sure to serve warmer, a little too much alcohol, pretty good.
