Description

Bottled. An unclear yellowish thin white head. The aroma is sweet wheaty with notes of yeast and spices - especially coriander and cinnamon. The flavor is sweet and very spicy - especially coriander, but also cloves and cinnamon, leading to a dry and slightly wheaty finish.

Hazy yellow color, floating yeast particles, no head. Apples, lychee and citrus in the aroma. Crisp (but same time flat) mouthfeel. Sweet apple-orange flavor. Also flowery notes, is it dandelion? Some grassy hops in the finish.

Tap, Kafe Belgie. Cloudy nutbrown color, medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, bit strawberry cream. Creamy taste, slight sweet, thick, bit yeasty, nutty and malty. Not as sharp and sweet malty as other bock beers, but more toffee and nutty. Quite ok.

Hazy nut brown, almost opaque, creamy expresso head. Aroma is a bit roasted with lemony notes. Medium-bodied. Roasty, chocolaty, slightly caramelly, some leafy grassy notes. Needs maybe more hoppy background.

Very pale yellow; thick, huge white head, going lacey. End of bottle is full of super-flunky islands. Nice perfumey nose, with coriander and lunaria. Very nice. Taste is rather soupy because of the coriander, but that is the only negative I can find. Sweet, but not overly so, with a spicey character. rather light mouthfeel. Nice - not as great as the Eikelbier, but all the same. Maybe a touch too much coriander?

Beer brewed with addition of gooseberries. Yellow-greenish beer, no head. Nose: fruit- YES! that are gooseberries, very fine blending of the aromas. Taste is SUPER. This is gooseberry-beer, a lot better thatn the Scottish try. Woody, fruity with a light, but refreshing body. Dutch brewers are very experimental. This one succeeded.
