bottle, pours light amber, thin off white head. Sweet carmel malt aroma, a light skunk note. Toasted malt in a light body form, slightly sweet, kind of nutty, ending nice and bitter with some remaining crystal malt sweetness, ends really mellow, but it’s nice. Such suprising flavor at 3.4 percent. Very drinkable and a great session beer.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are hops, malt, flowers and notes of caramel.

bottle, pours deep gold, thin white head. Aroma is light malt with a lovely light hoppiness. Low carb mouth starts with bready malt notes and ends with a fresh hop bitterness that balances out well. Delicious.

ambrata buona schiuma piuttosto persitente al naso prima luppoli invitante un po agrumati poi la nota maltata ed leggermente etilica in bocca buon abuilanciamento tra malto e luppolo dissreto corpo ma la nota etilica nasconde un po l’armonia

50cl bottle. clear yellow, large thick offwhite head. nice clear fruity orangy hoppy aroma, perhaps slightly spicy. very hoppy compared to what else english i’ve tasted. both pine / grape fruity hops and bitterhops. very tasty beer, refreshing and strong flavored.

Fruity and hoppy scent with some chocolate and malt as well. Sweet malty taste with a metallic aftertaste. Rather dry. Medium to the spritzy side mouthfeel. Cask at the Angel, Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, on the latest leg of the Thames Tipple 11-04-09 Pours more light amber than gold, although in the poor light of the pub it could have appeared darker, thin white bubly head. Bit tangy with some lasting bitterness, also a bit fruity and with some hops on the nose. Not the best from Brakspear I’m afraid. A6 A3 F5 P3 Ov10 2.7

Bottle, The Cave. Clear golden colour, small white head. Aroma has flowery hops. Flavour of caramel malts, hops, touch of glue. Dry finish.

[Cask at The Royal Oak, Ruscombe, Twyford] Amber with small white head. Aroma and intial taste dominated by sulphur and minerals - like spring water at a Victorian spa resort. If health farms sold beer, this might be what it tasted like! After a while you think you’re used to the sulphur, and start to sink into the welcoming arms of the underlying light, relaxing maltiness, with a little wood and a well-balanced bitterness. But then every now and then (eg if you burp) that sulphurous tang comes back to haunt you. It’s quite reminiscent of some of the Marstons beers (eg Pedigree) and I think given a few more beers you could get used to it and rather enjoy this distinctive brew. But on the basis of having tried just one pint, I was quite happy to order a different beer in the subsequent round.
