From the bottle. Frothy white head that soon fades. Aroma is grainy with sweet cardboard notes. Taste is mildly sweet with light sour undertones. Metallic at the finish. Medium body, very mild carbonation. Happy I did not need to finish this alone.

Bottle. Dark red chestnut, golden foam. Fresh grassy hops on a juicy malt body with light roast. Medium mellow body. Lightfooted caramel and roast, juicy malt. Dark Märzen, well balanced and quite drinkable.

Bottle. Dark red-chestnut color with eggshell head. Aroma is farty, berries, red fruits, flowery hops. Taste is berries, light caramel, very strawberry jammy, lots of fruits, lieblich. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. A pleasant surprise!

500 ml bottle. Unclear pale orange, foamy head. White bread, orange peel, yeast, some hay and spicy hops, some metallic notes. Dry metallic bitterness. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonated, refreshing. Solid.

"Silvator" aus der 1. Dampfbierbrauerei Zwiesel, Flasche (50 cl) vom Berliner Bierfestival. - Kupferrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase üppiges Toastmalz mit kräftiger Bonbonsüße, überreife Banane, bocktypisch füllig aber zugleich rund dank zarter Fruchtigkeit. - Antrunk schwer karamelmalzig mit fülliger bonbonartiger Malzsüße, satt malzig und zart rauchig (vom längeren Würzekochen?) mit einem Hauch von Lakritz. Leichte fruchtige Säure und reife Banane lockern die süße Schwere geschickt auf. Normal rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang knapp ausreichende Herbe. - Tief malzig-süßer, etwas einseitiger Bock, dem es deutlich an Hopfen und damit an Tiefgang fehlt, was er aber durch originelle Fruchtigkeit ausgleicht. Sozusagen eine eingedickte Version des Zwieseler Dampfbiers. Nicht schlecht.

Zwieseler “Dampfbier“, vom Faß auf dem Berliner Bierfestival. - Schönes Kupferrot, klar. - In der Nase milde Malzsüße, überreife Banane, fein hopfenwürziger Hopfen. - Antrunk satt karamelmalzig mit dezenter bonbonartiger Restsüße, fein ausbalanciert durch zarte fruchtige Säure und reife Banane. Etwas zu stark rezent, trotz schöner Süße eher schlank. Im Abgang allermildeste fruchtige Herbe. - Auf originelle Weise malzsüß, auf Dauer arg dünn aber rund und süffig. Schön!

Bottle on the return leg of 375 to Budapest, 10/06/18. Golden amber with a decenter beige cap. Nose is sweet malts, grains, dusty fruits, light banana notes. Taste comprises honey, caramel, bready tones, sweet malts, fruit esters. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable for the style.
