Moa Brewing Company is an independent, family owned and multi-award winning brewery from Marlborough, New Zealand.
Founded in 2003, Moa is one of the pioneers of craft beer in NZ and continue to produce a broad range of beers and ciders from the original brew site on Jackson’s Road, just outside of Blenheim.

Bottle. Murky amber with a white head. Loud pine and grapefruit aroma with some onion. True to some in the sub-style I guess. Softer on the palate with bread and peach before grapefruit and pine come along. Some mandarin, slight herbal notes. Medium to high bitterness. Picked up after initial impressions.

750ml bottle from Whole Foods Union Square. Rounded pint glass. Spritzy, pale golden brew. Smell is of mildly tannic, slightly metallic, acidic & boozy apple juice. Taste is rounder then it smells. Lightly sweet start, with an alcoholic & raw, woody dryness. Battery laced acidity. Bitter greens. Stone fruit. Slightly fuzzy carbonation. Boozy finish. Just okay.

375ml bottle. Pours hazy orange. Sauvignon, gooseberry, lemon, funky. Really very nice.

Bottle pour at Moa. Lots of sweet synthetic cherry, some tart citrus character, a sweet brioche background. Interesting, pretty tasty, nice full body. Very impressed.

On tap at Moa. Lots of pine, spruce, biscuit, orange. Controlled bitterness with some sweetness too. Not particularly exciting, but very drinkable.
