Pours a reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Roasty, coffee, nutty, earthy aroma. A bit flabby body. Cocoa power, brown sugar, toasted malty flavor. Alright.

Hazy golden color with small head. Strong aroma of bourbon, mellow. Sweetish flavor, malt, cereals, with low bitterness, but a nice Bourbon character.
More barrel than beer, it may become cloying in big quantities.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours dark copper with a creamy beige/tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, spice, perhaps vanilla. Med body. Flavor is coffee forward. Chocolate cinnamon follows. Vanilla is pretty subtle. There seems to be enough cinnamon to suggest mild pepper. The malt is dark. It has a certain earthiness to the finish. It’s not finishing wholly dry, but for me it’s best described as dry. Perhaps I’m making too much of this, but it seems complex, then seems not complex. I keep smacking my lips. Interesting and tasty.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of straw, fruits, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of notes, flowers, spices, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

22 cl bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and caramelish. Sweet, toasted malty and caramelish. Smooth caramelish and toasted. Sweet and lingering caramelish.

Bottle from Deekyn - thanks! Still had the Yosemite bottle deposit sticker on it. Pours opaque black with a medium dark brown creamy head that dissipates with nice lacing. Very nice aroma, bourbon forward, but not overpowering, chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, molasses. Flavor is medium sweet with a good amount of bitterness, very rich, almost decadent with bourbon, chocolate and vanilla taking center stage. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. This is a nice beer that deserves more recognition.

Bomber from Von’s Bishop. Bottle says it is the same as the "original Black IPA" so I placed the rating here and did not add a new beer even though it is 7.5% ABV rather than 6.8%. Nose is coffee, a little chocolate, and some light citrus the coffee really standing out however. Black with a small beige head that laces lightly. Flavor is lightly bitter with espresso and chocolate notes. Nicely done.

Bomber from Vons Bishop, CA. Nose is oaky vanilla, sweet maltiness, coconuts, and a very light banana in the background. Hazy golden orange with a very small cream head. Flavor is thick sweet malt, vanilla, coconut, and a nutty crunch with a slight bourbon note. Excellent BA non-usual suspect stuff!

12 fl oz bottle: badged as ’Yosemite Pale Ale’. Poured twice at home into a stemmed ’Yuengling’ glass on 26 Aug 2013. A present from my daughter and son-in-law after a holiday in said park. Looked fine, a good deep golden body with a full off-white head on both pours. Hops to the fore in the nose and taste, with a malty undertone. I really liked this beer, good solid balance and plenty of flavour from start to finish. Liked the alcohol level, suited the body depth and flavour.
