GBBF Day 1. Cask. Bright clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry and with low carbonation. Thin malts, mildly sweet and grainy. Insipid citric hop. Light dry finish. A bit flat and insipid.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep amber with a decent head. Nose - toffee, light nuts. Taste - more toffee, honey, orange liqueur. Palate - light bodied anda bit sweet. Overall - a bit too sweet. Probably fits under Mild style.

Bottle from Booths, Penwortham, shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of nutty malt, faint spice. Taste is metallic caramel. Sweet finish. Barely any hops noticeable.

Cask at the 4th Olds & Bolds Beer Festival, Footscray Rugby Club, Eltham, April 2018. Amber pour with a white head. Caramel, toffee, lots of malt in the aroma. Citrus, caramel and a splash of orchard fruit in the flavour. Not bad.

Cask at Red Lion, Egham. Hazy citrus aroma Pale gold. Thick foamy white head. Light sour citrus with a bitter edge. Underlying malts. Light bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Dry finish. Decent refreshing gold.

Tried at the golden eagle lincoln. Golden colour with a thin white head. Very weak tropical fruit atoma light taste and body.

Lunchtime on 1st Sep 2017. 500ml bottle: BBE May 2018, obtained from Buon Vino, just outside Settle (North Yorks). Poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard. Clean and clear amber body, full white crown on top. Malts in the nose and initial taste, piney hops and a light bitterness then kick in, mild fruity notes give the beer some interest and depth of flavour. Liked it.

500ml bottle: BBE May 2018. Obtained from Buon Vino, just outside Settle. Drank at home, lunchtime on 3rd Aug 2017. Poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass pint tankard. Clear amber body, good foaming blanket of white bubbles on top. Decent blend, fairly bitter overall but has a good semi-sweet malty base for the hops to play with. A little over chilled, even if the bottle label recommends 10 C, couldn’t find any aroma at such a low temp. Light malty notes appeared in the nose as it warmed a bit in the tankard.

Bottle from Spar Supermarket, Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester. Dark clear reddish-brown with no head. Aroma is sweet-berry fruit, with some of this in its taste, but with a richness that almost, but not quite disguises its roasted malts.
