Description
Our Ales Of Outstanding Natural Beauty are brewed right here beneath the chimney at Holmes Mill. Just behind our famous Beer Hall a dedicated team of artisan brewers craft a collection of cask beers inspired by the outstandingly beautiful landscape of Bowland.

Bowland Brewery started life as a microbrewery on the edge of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making a selection of beers named after the scenery and wildlife of this picturesque corner of Lancashire.

2026 Clitheroe Beer Festival #2. The second of the festival is also the second strongest available and the second strongest I've had. I'm hoping the regular strength beers will help me sober up. It's booziest in aroma, then again at the end of its aftertaste, but in between vanilla and chocolate gets a very good lookin here, and it lingers. Black coloured stout.

2026 Clitheroe Beer Festival #11. Deeper slightly darker golden coloured ale. A bit of strength involved, but it's not dominant, sweet malt-hoppy for this special brew, ending in a bubblegum flavour.

The second of three post Bradford Camra Beer Festival 2026 Beers once back in my home town, a second afterthought so to speak. Clear golden with a head. Blandish hopped brew, but rugby specials are never the best, this one stands up well enough though. Some tropical fruitiness available.

Clear pale gold with a creamy white head and a soft lemon biscuits aroma. Smooth and creamy, biscuit malt with lemony notes, a kick of bitterness and a dryish bittersweet finish.

My last trip to the Bowland Forest at the end of 2024 was in a super thick fog, which wasn't photo friendly. Completely clear golden-blonde ale once settled. Session hoppy, not much fruit imparted from the hop on this occasion - just a little exotic in taste, which is a little more apparent in aroma. Very crisp and easy though.
