Bottle at Tilleys, Newcastle on 27 July 2013. Poured black with a dense beige head. Aroma of burnt malt, but with acrid acidic notes. Roasted malt and coffee flavours, but mouth feel wasn’t as thick as I had hoped. Slight sour note of the palate, but mostly more coffee and bitter chocolate.

Cask @ Diggers, Edinburgh [030813]
Amber, clear, frothy dense head, good lacing...good appereance helped by the Aitken fount
Aroma of citrus hops, soft grapefruit and lemon hops, soft sweet fruity citrus malt
Taste as aroma, nice mellow sweet fruity caramel malt and soft citrus hop
Palate - Medium body, bit oily. Finish as main flavour, fairly sweet palate, soft bitter finish
Overall - Decent stuff - it’s a hybrid bitter / golden ale..very good condition which helped bump up the score

Cask gravity at Kent BF 2013. Hazy gold lasting white head. Soapy hoppy beer. It’s ok some interesting hop flavour. Some kind of antipodean hop I guess. Interesting.

Keg at Bow Bar. Golden steady bubbles with a thin cremay head. The nose has peaches and gentle malt. Perhaps some citrus. The taste has honey and orange blossom. Some citrus tang on the end. The palate is light to medium in body and texture. Slightly over carbonated dry finish. Tasty but slightly unbalanced.

On tap @ the Stockbridge Tap. Pours clear and golden - the head disappears fairly quickly. The nose has a touch of citrus but mainly it’s green beans and sweetcorn. The taste has more of the same. The palate is as expected, fairly one dimensional but at least very refreshing. Not a bad lager.
