500mL bottle, pours a clear amber with a large white head. Nose is subtle, with toasted bready malt and a very slight English hop profile. Flavour is identical, with notes bready caramel malt that dominate. Very dry body with moderate heaviness for the style and ABV. Decent but boring.

Cask at the Bear (JDW), Maidenhead, ABV 4.7%. Copper coloured with a thin cream head; toasted grain aroma; soft and biscuity in the mouth, the honey adds a syrupy texture without being too sweet; the finish spicy and fruity with lingering honey. Rather subdued overall, but a pleasant pint.

Sun Inn autumn beer festival, Kelvedon. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, good bubbly off white head. Palate is smooth with nice fine carbonation. Nice sweetish malts. Very nice floral sweetness with an underlying generic fruit candy. Little marmalade. Light dry finish. Tasty!

Bottle from the brewer following brewery talk at JDW, October 2013, (Thankyou to John for this!) consumed at Eardisley, Herefordshire Saturday 9th November 2013 I understand that this is one of a number of new and more unusual brews that will come off of their new 5 barrel pilot plan. Pours dark brown with a tan head. This is quite sweet and malty in the mouth, some light chocolate allied with light roasty and bitter touches do little to lift this beer. into being anything other than a rather safe, easy going but ultimately tad boring porter. Cask at the Bear (JDW), Maidenhead. Deep amber in colour, with a scummy looking cream head; aroma of burnt sugar; sweet caramel taste; and a satisfying dry finish. Rather ordinary, but very drinkable.

bottle - Yellow-gold, lightly hazy, small white head. It’s fairly sweet with biscuity, grainy malt and mild hops bitterness. Light bodied, easy drinking, it’s an okay beer. Not a lot going on here.

Bottle from Waitrose. Poured an amber colour with a thin yellow head which very quickly dissipated to almost nothing. Carbonated like a soda. Aroma of cream soda, sugary with nutty hints. Light fruitiness, a bit of hop bitterness, but also a slightly synthetic flavour.

Bottle at home from asda. Straw colour with a frothy white head. Nose is breast wheat, grassy noble hop and orange blossom. Flavour is hay, bready malt and crisp bitterness. Mouth feel is medium body light on the tongue. Decent summer tipple.
