Bottled. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and lot os hops, leading to a boring slightly bitter finish.

As Sleeman Original Dark 50* Amber Ale. Caramel aroma with herbal notes. Dark amber color with an ephemeral white head. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is caramel with floral hop. Seems well balanced. There is a lot of flavor here. Very nice ale. Finishes decently bitter.

Bottle as Porter 68. Nice aroma of roasted/toasted malt with chocolate notes. Very dark mahogany color with a tan head that was reluctanct to stay. Medium body with creamy fizzy carbonation. The flavor is darkly toasted malt with cocoa hints. Very dry. Seems to be hop bitter at the finish. It’s a strongly flavored porter. Nothing is spectacular, but it’s a good choice when reaching for a porter.

Nifty unique brown bottle. Looks like an IPA, go figure. Thin creamy head. Very mild aroma of some hops. First taste impact is IPA - ish. However, it lacks that intense bitter everlast. Grows slightly milder with each sip, but never inoffensive. Probably should be classified as an IPA. I’ve tasted other IPA that were less intense and it does have quite a hop presence. This of course is the opinion of a lager lover.

Ok, it says amber ale on the label so I’m confused. Off aroma in its own special way, like a couple of other sleemans I’ve opened. Certainly not as bitter as an ale and its is some what lagerlike. Not a great american dark lager but is Ok by general lager criteria. As an amber ale way above average but as an american dark lager, not in the same class as George Killians Irish Red .

My bottle is labeled Sleeman Cream Ale 64. Nice brown bottle. Pale yellow american lager appearance. Off sour aroma, but not skunky. Taste is pretty mild at first. Decent carbonation. Very mild metallic processed finish manifests itself on the tongue during the finish. Decent session brew.

Beautiful brown bottle, quite interesting and unique. First aroma is a bit stale and off, but in a nice way. Clear rootbeer appearance. No head. Roasted campfire hints on the first taste. A little charcoal bitterness follows on the taste buds. Stans up to the other medium alky porters with relative ease. Mild carbonation. Not bad for a dark beer. there is a mild to medium bitterness that builds on the back of the throat during the session. This results in a finish that has a mild to medium feel of burnt meat from the grill on the back of your throat. Not bad overall.
