Description
We’ve always relied on our wits to give us an edge. We tried things others wouldn’t and refused to let being smaller keep us from thinking big. To become masters of our craft, we had to be pretty darned crafty. This spirit is at the heart of everything we do—and in every drop we brew.

The rep told me they make this with "dark crystals." I asked what a dark crystal, and she didn’t know either. Some malt in the aroma. Taste of a low end bock. An ok, smooth beer.

This porter pours a extremely dark red with a light tan head. There is scents of grape citrus, molasass and spice. First sip had a burnt taste to it. Slightly sweet with low carbonation. Very small citrus taste in the flavour. The finish is burnt with some smoke and spice.

2004 bottle. Pours a urine-like yellow with a small fizzy white head. Aroma of sour corn and light alcohol notes. Some paint thinner and some sharp notes of something. Extra light body and vigorous overcarbonation. Flavor of corn and some bitter something (perhaps hops?) Not much to speak about.

2004 bottle. YES finally I find and try this beer. I was enthralled by the bottle, clear, no label and a faint faint tint of yellow to the beer. The fact that they are highlighting this clearness is just ridiculous. Aroma. Nothing, maybe some light minerals, or something? Flavor. Still nothing. Body. sparkling water. Appearance. Do I have to say it? My friend and I agreed, in all seriousness, that if you put a lemon in this beer, you could serve it unknowingly to someone, as a perrier.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow ale with a thin white bubbly head that’s disappearing way too fast. I can already smell skunk has a poured the beer. The taste is quite weak with a mix of light malt and a weak creamy feeling. This is truly a bad beer (could be a bad bottle but what do people expect with clear bottle!!!).

Bottle: Poured a clear golden colored beer with almost no head or carbonation. Aroma is quite skunky, which surprised me since I pick what I thought, was a fresh batch. Aroma is quite weak as expected. Taste is also quite weak with limited malt and again that skunky feel coming out. Still a mystery why they bother using a clear bottle.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow beer with no head or aroma or even taste. I don’t really know what to say about this one that wasn’t said before. It’s not beer but more like water with some beer tasting products included. This is a trend that will last for a year before disappearing, which should be a good thing really.

Ah, my first opportunity to sample a beer from the aquirerers of the legendary Unibroue. I was presented with 12 oz clear bottle. Hey where is the label? WTF? Distressed I determined never the less to partake of this most inexpensive brew. It pours a clear orange-gold color with a small white head. The odor is skunky and vaguely revolting. The flavor hardly improves upon this impression. It is smooth and creamy in texture but the flavor is a god awful skunky sour tang. I poured this down the drain without a bit of guilt. Disgusting! My heavens this is the destiny of Unibroue???

Swillfest ’04: It is clear, with barely any yellow at all. Slighty grassy, metallic aroma. Very wet and artificial-tasting, like the added icing sugar after pasteurization to beef up the body. It’s like creamy water with the aftertaste of peanuts.

Swillfest ’04: Pale colour. Malty, bready aroma with a hint of lime. Vaguely malty palate, a little wet. Relatively clean.
