Bottle from Beer Ambleside, Ambleside. Golden coloured bitter with a small head. It doesn't have a high bitterness, perhaps more of a light bitter-sweetness, but the style, accompanied by a good hoppiness, is there. Nice and traditional stuff.

Cask at the Agricultural, Penrith. Had this at the same time as the Collie Wobbles from the same brewer and it was quite difficult to distinguish between them. They were both bland, sweetish and smoothish with dusty caramel. This one was (marginally) paler and had perhaps a tinge of lemon that the Collie was lacking and a mite more bitterness, but was possibly even duller. Wonder if they'll get grief from Hawkshead over this beer name...?

Cask at the Agricultural, Penrith. Lightly hazed deep gold colour with a white head. Smoothish, sweetish, bland. A bit of dusty caramel, some digestive biscuit, some generic fruit. Really dull, but easy to drink I guess.
