Handpull cask at the Watermill Inn, Ings. Pale-ish yellow with a large white head. Light aroma of raw grain, dried grass, hay. Bitter taste with a sulphurous edge. Very dry finish with a metallic tinge. Not so keen.

Handpull cask at the Watermill Inn, Ings. Light to mid-gold, with some uneven head and lacing. Grainy aroma with some grassy notes. Fruity bitter taste with some floral hop slightly increasing the bitterness in the finish. Slight metallic note in the aftertaste. Not bad.

Bottle from the Lake District, thanks to Kevin. A chestnut/amber coloured pour with a healthy off white coloured head on top. Fruity, malty, caramel aroma. Tastes the same, fruity, malty, caramel. Easy drinking bitter, pleasant.

Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - golden amber topped off with some nice suds. Nose - mainly biscuits or more accurately Scottish oatcake. Taste - some toffee or honey to add to the oatcake. Palate - light to medium bodied with a crunchy texture. The finish is dry an crunchy too. Overall - decent bitter.

Bottle from the Watermill Inn. Appearance - amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - caramel with a hint of lemon. Taste - more caramel, some shortbread. Some lemon but mostly caramel shortbread. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - could be more refreshing but not bad.

Bottle from the Watermill Inn. Appearance - deep amber red with a quickly disappearing head. Nose - stewed apple and light toffee. Taste - honey, more stewed apple and a dry biscuit note at the back. Palate - medium bodied and clingy in texture. Sweet but tangy on the finish. Overall - decent.

Brown colour with no head. Aroma and flavour have fruity malts. Some raisin. Fine carbonation.

Bottle from the Watermill Inn. Appearance - opaque black with a very thin head. It’s gone. Nose - toffee to molasses. Light smoke. Taste - molasses and light smoke. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - solid ale.

Bottle from the Watermill Inn. Appearance - deep copper to red. Thin head. Nose - oranges and cake. Honey. Taste - oranges and honey again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a round tangy texture. Fairly dry sweet/tangy finish. Overall - interesting though could be a bit fresher on the finish.

Bottle from the Watermill Inn. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - generally toffee, citrus if you look for it. Taste - honey, citrus, then melding into toffee/caramel. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - ok.
