Description
De Brabandere Brewery looks back on a rich history, and looks to the future with equal confidence. The dream cherished by founder Adolphe De Brabandere at the end of the nineteenth century when he laid the foundations for his brewery in Bavikhove has come to fruition in the successful company of today.
Our rich assortment of beers is enjoyed by connoisseurs far beyond our borders.

Brewing was, is, and will continue to be, an art at De Brabandere. Our numerous characterful beers can be considered as our heritage: made with traditional craftsmanship, authentic ingredients and... lots of love. To create unique flavour sensations for you to share with your friends is what motivates us at De Brabandere, day in and day out.

For almost 25 years, between 1990 and 2014, the brewery bore the name Bavik.

Bottle, 11.2 oz, says Gouden tripel; Nose is yeast, fruitiness, spices, with a tart note; hazy urine yellow with a huge glass lacing off white head; flavor with tart fruitiness, spices, and a little funkiness. Not nearly a great tripel! And I have 4 other Petrus brews waiting to rate, hope they are better!

Bottle: Amber pour with a moderate beige head. Nose is strong of fruits and sweet/tart. The taste is very mellow with sweet malt and fruit into a lighter tart finish. Soft (a little overly soft) character. Thanks to BuckDich for this one.

Pours a muddy brown colour with a thin tight head. Fruity, hop aroma. Quite a high carbonation but maintains a smooth fairly thin texture. Not at all sweet for a bruin beer. It is on the border of having a slight sour edge. Some maltiness but overall has a mediocre, average flavour. Not bad though.

Bottle Deep brown (caramel coloured), muddy body with a creamy, lightly brown head. Woody, fruity aroma with some port and smoke. Not that complex. Lightly bitter, lightly sour initial flavour. Lightly bitter finish (bit dry). Quite plain flavour, not very complex. Lightly carbonated. Lightly bodied.

Bottle Lightly brown, very rocky head, like Orval only darker. Hazy brown body. Very lovely. Lightly malty aroma. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavour. Ok beer, but quite one dimensional. There are way better beers.
