Brewing was, is, and will continue to be, an art at De Brabandere. Can: My first impression was it looks more like an energy drink when still in the can, but who needs to judge the book by the cover? Poured a lighter pink, reddish color with mimimal white head. Its more like a fruit beer spritzer mixed with champagne. Some raspberry notes, a little citrus. Not what I look for in a beer.

New additions: Skunky personality at first, then good sizzle with decent noble hops cutting flavor. Yes, probaly one of the better pils I’ve tasted, more like american wanna bee pilsner macro lager beer attitude, yes very much like lager american beers that asre well made........ -----------------------old rating: I’ve been waiting to try a bavik.....since 1894! 11.2 oz brown bottle. Pop lid for a veggie skunk plant aroma. After pour, aroma clears to yeasty grin. Slightly cloudy pale yellow. A hard cement bite is on the initial flavor hit. This is followed by an industrial flavor that I can appreciate. It has the affection of a wit or a hefe. Finish is rather nice and non-offensive without bitterness. Easily enjoyable, I liked this better than Urquell.

Pours deep brown into a snifter. Significant molasses-colored micro head very slowly recedes leaving sheet lacing. Sour cherry and vinegar aromas. Fairly bland with flat sour flavor. I was expecting more from the aroma.
