Description
In late 2013, J.C. Hill got a call from his father, John, asking if heโ€™d like to open a brewery restaurant in Monterey. The opportunity to collaborate on a project with his father and move home to Northern California to start a family with his wife, Melanie, could not be ignored and thus he moved. Located in a historically registered building in Old Monterey, this is our original location that opened in 2014. The Alvarado Street Brewery & Grill serves locally sourced, gastropub-influenced fare built around it's beers that are produced on-site.

In April of 2016 our Salinas Production Brewery & taproom opened to supplement house offerings at our downtown Monterey pub, and allow us to supply draft beer to quality minded local establishments.

Can purchased at Ale Arsenal. Nice beer, seems a bit restrained for a quad dry hop.

From Good Times Oakland, canned February 12th.

It pours a clear pale gold with a small head of foam, retention is good, lacing is spotty.

Smell is pine, dank with light tropical fruit, juicy with a light bitterness.

Taste is pine, light dank notes, juicy with mild tropical fruit. Swishing the beer brings out more of the dankness and bitterness.

Medium bodied, I would drink this again.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated February 04, 2026.
Aroma is hop forward and super fruity with tons of passion fruit, peaches, nectarines, guava, pineapple and mango. Lighter citrus notes and dank, oily resin. Light cracker malt and alcohol notes.
Pours a dull, hazy golden, straw color with a medium large, thick, fluffy, white head that recedes slowly to the edges where it lingers. Fairly high lacing and small legs.
Flavor is fairly sweet with light cracker malt notes. Moderately strong bitterness and light alcohol notes. Fairly strong fruity hop notes with lots of pineapple, passion fruit, stone fruit and guava. Lighter berry, citrus and dank, resin notes.
Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, an alright hazy IPA, but I found it to be too sweet for me with a strong pineapple juice note in the flavor. Hop aroma is really nice though and the alcohol is well hidden. Not particularly bitter, but there is a bit there to balance the sweetness.
