Bottle pour at Small Pony, pours a deep dark red / burgundy with a small off-white head. Aroma really expresses the cherries nicely — revealing tart cherry pie and oak in great combination. Flavour is very acidic, with a really nice sour cherry character upfront, followed by plenty of oak, and heartburn-producing acidity. The cherry character is nice, but as with so many Small Pony sours, the acidity is too aggressive.

Bottle pour at Small Pony, pours a cloudy bright yellow with a small white head. Aroma is full of bright, fresh pineapple upfront, with a touch of bugginess and oak. Flavour is loaded with tart pineapple upfront, accentuated by oak, and some funky critters. The acidity is medium-to-high but works well with the pineapple. Very good.

Bottle pour at Small Pony, pours a clear peachy pink with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of oak, followed by rose hips and hibiscus. Flavour is acidic, with lots of acidic berry notes, plenty of hibiscus, rose hips, and oak. Too acidic for me, but it's pleasant enough.

Quite dominant pineapple aromas are accompanied by white-fleshed fruits, subtle notes of tangerines, all on a surette and wild base. Yellow and opaque liquid covered with a good semi-creamy and quite persistent foam. Taste is very sour and wild but with a well-defined fruitiness with pineapple tones, a perceptible woodiness and a small subtly salty side. The malted base is giving a honeyed side that combines admirably with the woody. Wheat adds an interesting cereal dimension. A lactic side comes to coat the whole and confers an interesting taste complexity. The body is a little round and velvety. The carbonation a little low. The tannins give it a slight astringency. Well fruity and pleasant this sour beer with a malty and woody side that brings a beautiful taste complexity. Think there may be a bit of confusion here. The displayed label is for Wild Blue Yonder, and the earliest reviews discription for colour don't seem to match what I poured from my Tropical Apocalypse bottle from the Lcbo. But whatever. Pour a golden tinted slightly orange, with next to no head which dissipates quickly. Definitely getting the pineapple in the nose, some aserbic green apple bite. Taste delivers a solid dose of pineapple flavour with acidity and a surprising level of sweetness which balances some sharp, aserbic bitterness. Mild vanilla notes from its barrel time. The balance of sweet and sour linger right into the finish. Excellent!
