Bottle shared @ M&M’s. Hazy golden with white head. Bretty, malty, yoghurty, herbal, white pepper. Medium body and a bit too much carbonation. Bitter.

La Sirene The Beginning Wild Ale Golden orange rose in color with a tart plum acidic nose. The body is light and acidic, tart, fruity - kind of simple in profile but with decent oak in the finish and overall satisfying.

Bottle. Passed on this when I first saw it because at $A 20+ for 375ml it was as expensive as real lambic from reliable producers. Bought on the strength of czar's review and La Sirène's track record. Almost clear gold with a suggestion of a head. Aroma of old lemons, lime, apricots and their stones, oak. Not really funky. A little body but not really slippery. It's almost flat but those remaining bubbles really work. Tart like a Meyer lemon with all manner of citrus - sour, old, zesty, sunny - before oak takes hold. Delicious with excellent balance.

On tap at Near & Far (Fitzroy). Pours thick and bright orange. Lovely apricot forward nose. Feels like nectar, and is that good. Lovely.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver, batch 230313, bottled July 2018, the front label says 2016
Hazy golden colour, compact head. Aroma of wood, cork, armpit, funk, wine. Lively mouthfeel, delicate and biscuity malt base, it has a good degree of aciddity, and strong wine character, yet well integrated.
Balanced, elegant and powerful.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of fruits, brett, berries, malt, and yeast. The flavor is sour with notes of brett, wood, berries, fruits, yeast, and malt, leading to a tart finish.

An intriguing can this one. Gold in colour. Noticeable wafts of grassy citrus upon pour. Unusual and welcome mix of funk and bitterness. Not a shock to find these guys have managed to make a decent hopped up saison... a rare beast indeed.

Raiting #4999. 375ml from The Gull @ home shared with Alex (thx for the bottle, man!) and Andrey. Appearance: hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: funky, some peppery notes, quite a lot of wine barrel. Taste: along the same lines with lots of wine barrel, funk, some citric acid, a bit woody in the background. Overall: nice and balanced stuff, something in the middle of Belgian Saison and Lambic.
