Large, white head is very well-retained and there’s a big haziness, though not soupiness, throughout this peach-bronze beer.
A big shot of pine is noted initially, though it isn’t overly resinous. Spicy, fragrant, dank notes and base malt on the end, mixing to create a light sourdough-like character (could be light yeast in there, as well) sit somewhat ominously, yet no resin or twang comes...As it warms/breathes, some fun cherry and red grapefruit notes creep in and the beer opens up a little more. All the while, the malt adds honey and cracker to help balance. No alcohol or flaw. Lots of pine, but a fair amount of juiciness, as well, as Mosaic is apt to show.
Similar profile in the mouth, as the nose; tons of spicy, piney, dank and light-to-moderate juiciness with a soft, malty texture and tons of dryness overall. While there is some good cherry, ruby red grapefruit and other light juiciness, the pine still comes off very austere and a touch acidic. Yet the beer is executed so flawlessly otherwise, that it almost completely mitigates this. Perfect attenuation, texture, cleanliness, carbonation....Very nice beer and not just another cookie-cutter NE mosaic IPA.

Sample from growler at the ’Smoked Meats and Beer’ tasting on 05/27/2017. Hazy bronze-orange color with a medium bone white head that recedes gradually to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Tropical fruit, hops and malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, resiny hops and malt. The finish is pineapple and hops. Above average overall.

Sample from growler at the ’Smoked Meats and Beer’ tasting on 05/27/2017. Hazy orange color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing. Passionfruit, hops and malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of tropical fruit, herbal hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Moderately hazy, though not soupy, ruddy-copper-gold with plentiful, well-retained, white head.
Very juicy, Nelson-Galaxy-like nose. Dank, lush, green, almost spicy notes with pine interludes for sure. Malt is kept to a bare minimum adding only light cracker in the background, yet the low acidity overall prevents it from feeling heavy or overdone with pine (which itself isn’t resinous). No alcohol or flaw.
Soft, wheat-laden texture with tons of white wine and more dry pineapple that give it intensity and depth without any big acidity or heavy citrus. Quite dry, sporting only cracker and biscuit-like malts, yet amply malty with no yeast presence. Juice lingers with light lime and spice. Hint of candied orange and pine trailing off with no alcohol or flaw. Very typical, but great, NE IPA.

Black pepper is immediately noted as the most prominent phenol and for that I’m instantly excited. There’s a juiciness to it, as well, though it’s not hop-derived. Melon, apple and strawberry esters are all very aromatic while the finish has light acidity mixing with bready malts to give a slight sourdough impression. Very low on hops, just light floral and herbal notes without any real citrus presence. No alcohol, flaw, or messy/heavily American esters.
Malty and soft in the mouth with a fair amount of honey-caramel-like character from the residual sugar. To that extent, it’s maybe a bit too sweet, though certainly not offensively so. Tons of black pepper seen from the nose; this very well could be Dupont yeast. Low, loose carbonation could stand to be tightened up a bit to help disperse the malt and crispen the finish. Still, it’s quite drinkable on account of the mild-to-moderate acidity and strong black pepper (and light clove) phenols. Clean, no alcohol noted.

Growler from Patrick. Second time trying these guys. It’s a light golden color. It smells great. A total grapefruit and pineapple bomb. Solid carb. Dense mouthfeel. Finish is a sweet mango flavor with a little table sugar. Crispy clove and a little salt. Nice.

Thanks Brennan for the bottle! Poured into a snifter showing golden brown with quickly dissipating clean white foam. The nose shows strong brett supported by light vanilla The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Mildly tart with flavors of brett with light vanilla. More vanilla sweetness on the finish.

Growlette taken home and poured into a mug because they said this was considered a kvass.
The appearance was a golden yellow color with a slim transparency about it. Some carbonation was seen rising to hit a quick moving fizzy head. No lace.
The aroma has some citrusy zest popping light sour and tart notes. Sly hay to semi-grass-like features in the background.
The flavor was zesty sour to tart bringing about the hay/grassiness. Zesty citrusy aftertaste roaming into the finish.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt alright, perhaps a bit more would have tamed some of the sour harshness penetrating my tongue.
Overall, not a Kvass in any sense of the Russian style. Some weird sort of sour ale that honestly isnt bad to me, but fans of Kvasses. Youll be disappointed with this one.

This was poured into a tall tulip.
The appearance was a semi-dark pale orange to brown color with a sustaining finger’s worth of white foamy head that held for a little bit and fell at a good pace. Slight lace.
The aroma had some sweet grassy to orange to tangerine to herbal to semi-sweet nutty arrangement up front flowing freely right on into a delicate sweet malt base, somewhat biscuity and smooth.
The flavor was a nice blend of sweet to grassy and bitter quality with an underscore of the herbal and nutty sweetness making a good play at the overall taste. Aftertaste was quick with a sly nutty to tangerine sort of blend.
The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. The ABV felt good. Ample smoothness to merge with the bitterness which really didn’t impart the harshness I used to get in a AIPA’s, but hey not even sure why I said that - this is all new these days.
Overall, well, they pulled off a DIPA with nuts in it. Did I like this? Yeah, I guess I did. Quite different though, I will say that.
