I'm with Joris on the sulphury notes, not sure about the cat pee though ;-) Otherwise metallic hop notes. Plae golden, low carbonation, low head. Light body and maltiness. Aromatic hops, which are pleasant but do not last long. I do not quite get the amount of bitterness in the aftertaste Joris got - could be more and drier for my taste.

Dark brown, totally hazy; dense beige head. Nice nose, nutty, warm-alcoholic, Münich malt, estery. Taste is estery again, spicy (cloves, cardamom, even cinnamon) and fruity (banana, ripe pears). I'm convinced I can taste higher alcohols. Dark bread, as Jonas says, indeed, a sweet one with rum and eggs. Balanced by a wheaty acidity. Well-bodied, warming even. The last will be the first. The sixt beer of this brewery is the first I can appreciate. Good one.

Yellow to peach coloured, hazy; thick, very dense white-yellowish head, collapsing. Nose is clovey, bit of banana too. Spicy, fruity. Very clear wheat taste, little acidity - but again, no real character. Light to medium-bodied. Wheat is palatable. Run-of-the-mill, uninspiring. About as exciting as their Pils.

Pale yellow, fully cloudy. Huge white, dense head, dissipating. Nose with bananaester, wheat, yeasty, spicy. Light-fruity taste; bit orangey, bit of banana(first time I TASTE banana instead of smelling it). Obvious wheaty acidity. For the rest characterless. Extremely light. Then again, I suppose that's the idea. What can be said? If you want to do biathlon and still swill beer...

Very dark, totally hazy; virtually no head. Nose yields cassis, dark malts, chocolate, all at the same time whilst pouring - NICE. But very ephemere - two minutes later, all that rests is chalk. Taste is completely at odds with the first nose. There might be a little cassis (blackcurrant), and some dark malts, and if Jonas means Pumpernickel with sourdough, I completely agree - but essentially the main flavour is dreary licorice - and I can even TASTE chalk. What a bummer. Again, thinnish texture and light bodied. Very little aftertaste. Oh my. I'm afraid Hirschbrauerei is never going to rank high on my favourites' list. And Jonas and me were so excited about this 1782 name...

Clear yellow (a tad paler than the Pils); large bubbles to slight white head. Nose of chalk, cat's pee, herbal. Taste is herbal again, some German hops. Clearly skunked, though not much. Very neutral (Pils is more bitter). Hops come on retronasal and are not metallic. Light bodied, watery. Aftertaste is somewhat malty, somewhat herbal. Sorry Jonas, I think this terribly boring Pilsener; slightly better than the 'Pils', probably due to more malt.

Clear-gold; large bubbles converging to fluffy head. Very grainy nose, bit malty. Maybe tiny bit cat's pee too. Taste yields hoppy (typical German, Tettnang, etc) flavours. And precious little else. Some rubber/ cat's pee (sulphurish) retronasal. Watery texture, pretty light bodied. Long bitterish aftertaste, beginning mild and ending metallic. Oops. Not all German Pilseners are classics.

Sourdough and fruit nose, vegetable bitterhops as well. Pours a dak brown with negligible head. Tart dough flavors again, some fruit and a slightly flowery hop finish - I really miss some pronounced roasted flavors here though. Body is water after the Augustiner Dunkel I had before. They claim this is a beer as it would have been brewed in 1782, but I have a hard time believing they would make anything as bland as this back then.

Banana and dark malt aroma, slight brandy as well. Very dark cloudy brown, creamy brown head. Broad fruity flavors: Banana as usuall, but also peaches and a hint of strawberries. Other than that spices - especially vanilla. Bready base but a bit lightish body. Quite nice.

Dusty and herbal hoppy nose. Pale golden, low carbonation and head. Sweet malty base with quite a bit spices and perfumed hops. Solid body, mellow mouthfeel. Quenching.
