Description
We are a little brewery situated in the original Hopcat location in GR. We have been brewing since 2008. We are the only Hopcat in the family with a brewery. Style labels are next to useless around here. We embrace the strange, push boundaries and value balance and subtle complexity over extremes.

Admin Note: As of August 5th, 2019 HopCat Grand Rapids is no longer a brewpub. Brewing equipment has been sold off so they can focus on supporting other local breweries.

On tap at Hopcat during the RBSG. Poured a cloudy pink gold with a slight orange hue and a white head that dissipated quickly to nothing. Aroma was full of light fruits and floral notes with the rhubarb lying back a bit. Rhubarb was more present on the tongue as it combined nicely with the light fruits and floral notes.

On tap at Hopcat during the RBSG. Poured near black with a brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a strong bourbon note that overwhemled the underlying sweet grains. There was also a slight hint of dark fruit (plums). Flavor begins with some dark fruits but the bourbon, sweet grains and caramel takeover through the finish.

On tap at Hopcat during the RBSG. Poured a reddish hazy amber with a off-white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of citrus with just a bit of bourbon underlying. Flavor was similar with citrus and a bit of a light fruit as well. The bourbon comes out a bit in the finish.

On tap. Poured black with a tan head that laced nicely. Aroma was full of pine hop notes with an undertone of coffee bitterness. Flavor began nicely with pine hops and ended with an espresso bitterness. Nice and smooth on the tongue.
