Description
Now the "largest of micro-breweries", Coreff has been perpetuating the spirit of the English master brewers since 1985, doing it in its own way, between absolute demand for quality and zero fuss.
In 1985, it actually took courage, and a lot of conviction, to launch a Breton beer with a Breton name (Coreff = beer in Breton). When from the 1990s, the tide turns and announces the revival of Breton culture, Coreff naturally benefits. Even today, drinking Coreff is a militant gesture (or militrant as we say at Coreff). Against the standardization of taste and for a different conception of consumption.

Bottle. Color: Clear amber, off-white head. Aroma: Caramel malt, herbal notes, some hop. Taste: Caramel malt, some liquorice, herbal notes, hints of gingerbread spices. Moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium body, below average carbonation. Ok, but not exciting.

Old rating - A 330ml bottle brought home from St Malo by my wife last year. It pours a dark brown with a beige foamy head. Aromas & tastes of coffee & malt. Light bitter finish. Passable

Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#78. PONTORSON. Found in a local shop in the small town. Golden-blonde in colour with a hoppy taste, but a more neutral aroma. Not a bad choice for a steady session.

Tap on a plastic cup. Doesn’t seem like a true Bier de Garde to me. The kind of beer that people drink on festivals. Average beer with some malty taste.

Old rating - A bottle I picked up from St Malo in Brittany. I've had most of the Coreff range before, but this was surprisingly good. It's a Blonde Cuivree, meaning coppery/ brassy or brazen, this came out in the taste. It's 7.5% but hid it well. One I'd like to try again.
