Can from The Gull, North Vancouver, tag Sept 06 2020, 4+ months old
Cloudy dark blond colour, compact head. The aroma is mildly lemony and dank. The mouthfeel is lean, almost dry; the malt base is delicate, the hop is lightly citrusy, peel-y, but there is also a strange floral component, not really disturbing, just unexpected; the bitterness errs on the low end of the spectrum. Somehow sour. Not very fresh, but it's modernly designed, and fairly pleasant.

This milk stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, brown head. Scents include coffee, burnt toast and molasses. Med lacing. First swig was quite sweet with flavours of cocoa, smoke and burnt caramel. Finish is really roasted with that sweetness lingering on the palate.

Third stout of the night, pouring a real dark, almost black with no visible highlights. Thin beige head, kind of frothy with not much stay, but a little foamy ring. Aromas of roasted malts mostly. Hints of dark fruits, molasses. Not getting much sweetness from this one. Roasted barley for taste with again these hints. I kind of get some sour infection from this one, but not a deader. Easier drinker than thought, as not much sweetness for a milk stout. Decent hops balancing the dryness. An alright normal stout.

Can from Cask & Barrel. Put on Cryptopsy, to see how a Gravity Blast from Toronto would stack up against some gravity blasts from Montreal. Looks not bad for a hazy, has a pleasant orangey sort of colour. Just a thin head. On the nose, lots of bright tropical fruit hop notes. On the palate, just a light malt base, with a touch of juicy acidity, fairly low bitterness and lots more of bright tropical fruits. A little bit of alcohol taste late is the biggest issue for me. Of course the hazy I want a larger can of comes to me in a 355ml can.

Can that pours a hazy golden colour with an orange hue. The head seems warm-white, frothy, with good retention and light foamy lacing. Some particles are seen through the brew. Pineapple, tropical fruits and orange note aromas with some soft grass. The taste has some nice mild fruitiness with the oranges, and the rest of the hops kicks in a slight spiciness in the finish. The citrus fruit continues to lingers. Wet, slick mouthfeel with a growing dryness, bitterness. Seems more like a NEIPA than a West Coast one, but good nonetheless.

Can from Cask & Barrel. It's pale and hazy, with a decent head. Fairly bright hop aroma, with gooseberries, pomelo and that sort of thing. Moderate bitterness, and it's also got some decent malts. Almost a bit too sticky. But all told, I like it. It's a good IPA if you're just having one. Might be too sweet to go past that, however.

Can. This is a soft pale ale, with kind of an oaty mouthfeel, and a lychee, sweet honeyed floral type of hop character. Fairly low bitterness. Not bad.

473ml can. Pours a hazy pale gold with yeast particles in suspension and a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Sweet fruity aroma of grainy pale malt, mandarin orange, grapefruit, peach, cantaloupe, guava and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of grainy pale malt, tangerine, mandarin orange, grapefruit, cantaloupe, guava, peach, earthy yeast and light piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Tasty and crushable.

Can from the LCBO. (3.9%, so I'm assuming Mark 2) Hazy pale yellow with a large slow fading white cap that leaves som tight lace. Nose is bright tropical fruit, lemon peel, light bread, grape. melon and some lavender. Flavour follow though slightly muted with a Light+ grape and melon sweetness with a medium- grapefruit and grass bitterness. Mouth is medium- with nice carbonation and a sticky finish. 8-/4/7/3/15

Can from the LCBO. Hazy medium gold with a large off white head that recedes slowly and leaves tight lace. Nose has tropical fruit, citrus, pine and some biscuit. Light sweet bread with a medium+ pineapple, grass and pine bitterness. Mouth is medium- and creamy with soft carbonation and a nicely bitter finish. Solid IPA. 8/4/7+/3/14+
