500ml bottle. Pours brown with little head. Lemon, spice, biscuit etc. It’s a pretty standard saison.

330ml bottle. Grapefruit, pine, apricot. Nice malt background but the hop profile comes over a little messy. Not my favourite.

330ml bottle. Toasted hazelnuts, toffee, apple, toast. Thin, far too carbonated body. The carbonation takes over the flavour a bit too. Honestly a bit of a mess. As an Englishman, I find it outrageous that this is rated higher than bitters back home, despite being completely out of style and really not that pleasant. Perhaps the Kiwi palate is more easily pleased. Hard pass.

330ml bottle. Pours pale with little head. Strong funky grass, peach, gooseberry, lemon. Quite full bodied for the style. Fine.

On tap at Freeman & Grey. Peach, little grass, little sweet toffee, plenty of malty biscuit and maybe a little lightly toasted bread. Nice light and refreshing palate. Not bad.
