Description

Decent. Kind of malty. English pale ale with only the vaguest sense of hops. Dark red pour. Malt comes together alright. Cask Days 2013.

Oaked version. A hazed reddish brown Doppelbock with a thin mocha head. In aroma, lightly woody caramel malt with light dark fruits and licorice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with plums, woody notes, licorice, alcohol warmth, a bit raspy, good. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2013.

This was their big beer of the night but wasn’t super balls-out. Really just their brown with barrel aging or something, but it doesn’t quite work like the regular armada. Pours cloudy red with ok lacing and little head. Aroma of oak, booze and tangy malt. Some fruit on nose. Finishes tangy sour. Een some florals in finish. Some barrel astringency and some sweet finish. Improves as it goes down and warms up, however. On tap at brewpub.

Not a huge deal. After the Congo this is a little anti-climactic. Just a basic session IPA. Clear orange with great lacing and good head. Piney hops, some malt. Bitter finish. Average carbonation. On tap at brewpub.

Very nice. Pours cloudy orange with great lacin and good head. Nice funky aroma. Hops, booze, tangy malt and everything on the funky side. Finishes bitter but floral. Great malt profile for an IPA - just the background you need for a hop dose. Hops is pine citrus and perfume. Very well done and well-rounded. LIke their saison karma but with more balls. On tap at brewpub.
