Description

Draft: Poured a cloudy light amber color ale with a very generous head with good retention. Aroma of coriander with floral hay notes is quite tasty. Taste is also dominated by light coriander notes with light flora notes and some medium sweet malt notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Interesting even though this beer was served way too carbonated.

(Sample on tap at the downtown brewpub, May 26 2014) Poured a very hazy pale yellow-gold with a lasting frothy white head and lace. Aroma very yeasty and doughy, clove, cardamom (?), chamomile soap, lemon zest, slight pit fruit, herbal. Flavour pretty much followed nose, a little sweet pale malt to start but finish reasonably bitter, slightly acidic/tart, mostly dry and yeasty. Not terrible but didn’t really come together for me, Medium bodied but with very lively, effervescent carbonation. Drinkable.

(On tap at downtown brewpub, 2014 version, May 25 2014) Poured a orange-copper colour with a small white head, slight lace. Hoppy aroma, grapefruit, lemon, some sweet tropical fruit, a bit herbal/wet pine, some caramel malt and alcohol. On the palate the toffee/caramel malt sweetness was more pronounced, grapefruit rind, orange, lemon, some "green" hop quality, fairly bitter towards the finish, some alcohol heat as well, still fairly dry aftertaste. Mouthfeel medium-full, oily, fairly soft carb. Good stuff, but on the sweeter, maltier, boozier side of the DIPA spectrum and so not a perfect beer. A little brash.
