Sample on draft at the taproom. Pours black, with a small, tan head. The aroma is sharp vanilla, milk chocolate, and mild coffee. Very sweet, without much overt bitterness, but still not cloying or harsh. Medium to heavy body, with a creamy, velvety mouthfeel. This is a straightforward and delicious stout. Quality.

Sample on draft at the taproom. Pours black, with a big, frothy, tan head. The nose is bitter chocolate, caramel candy, pecans, and chicory. Sweet, with a harsh, toasty bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a hard, sharp mouthfeel. This is reasonably aromatic, but it's a little too harsh.

Sample on draft at the taproom. Pours an unclear, reddish-brown color, with not much head. The aroma is dry leather, rhubarb, maple, unripe berries, and lime peel. Fairly dry flavor, a little bitter, and not very tart. Medium body, with a hard, sticky, astringent mouthfeel. This is an interesting beer, but it's a little difficult to drink.

Sample on draft at the taproom. Pours black, with a small, dense, tan head. The aroma is butter toffee, tart cherries, almonds, and milk chocolate. Sweet and malty, with a smooth, sour flavor. Medium to heavy body, with a creamy, decadent mouthfeel, and no acidity, surprisingly. Fun, creative, and well done, but a little odd, still.

500 mL bottle, bought and shared at the brewery. Pours black, with a small, tan ring. Black bread aromas, with some pine, bitter chocolate, and juniper. Sharp, bitter, and lively. This is a fun and flavorful black IPA, but not as aromatic as I'd like.

Taster at the brewery. Pours black, with a medium-sized, tan head. The aroma is bitter chocolate, mild chilies, and pine. Sharply bitter and a bit dry. Not much chili heat. Medium body, with a chalky, sharp mouthfeel. Pretty tasty, interesting stout. Nothing great, though.

Sweet and sugary, with a light bitterness that balances well. Medium to heavy body, with a smooth, syrupy mouthfeel. This is a very sweet, complex, and decadent quad. Just lovely.
