Sample in a flight at the tasting room. Dark, opaque, purplish-brown, with a small, khaki head. The nose is mild, tart berries, black tea, straw, and toffee. Surprisingly dry, with a light tart and bitter finish. Heavy body, thick, hard, and sticky. NIcely complex and dry, but hard to drink. Not really enjoyable, sadly.

Taster in a flight at the tasting room. Pours bright orange, with a medium, fluffy, off-white head. The aroma is hay, strong orange juice and bitter orange peels, wet grass, and green bananas. Sweet and sugary, with a nice, mellow bitterness and a bit of funk. Heavy body, chewy, thick, and hard. Well done Belgian style, and the oranges add a lot. Quite enjoyable.

Sample at the Feast of Saint Arnold. Big nose of roasted malts, molasses, baker’s chocolate, and chicory. Very sweet, with a strong roasted bitterness that lingers into an unpleasant aftertaste. Heavy body, syrupy, and thick. This is a solid and fun RIS.
