Description
Good in brewing beer. Bad in writing bios. Madness from Budapest challenging almost everything you know about beer. Always flawless, always bold, never boring. Not necessary business-wise all the time, but setting the standards high for ourselves every time as we truly believe in the cliché that goes like ‘the way you do something is the way you do anything’.

Can, courtesy of the Mad crew. Pours a hazy, fruit shake-like yellow with a fluffy white head. Noice! So the thing is, I'm pretty sure I1ve never ha kiwi. At all. I have no idea how it's supposed to taste, not the least. But the thing is, I still dont know, even after having this beer: that is, it had very, VERY faint fruit accents on top of the usual creamy, somewhat tart and tangy lactic character. I could barely pick up anyting at all. So it's a solid, decent berliner (with a remarkably thick body, especially for the ABV), but the fruit is kinda lost on it, sadly.

Can at home. Hazy yellow pour, white head. Nose is tropical fruits, candy and spicy pink pepper. Taste is low bitterness, moderate sweetness, showing fruity, lightly grassy hops, some cadny sweetness and faint touches of the pink pepper, but not a great deal of this latter. Closes with a hoppy, moderately spicy finish, has a light body and soft to average carbonation. Interesting and fun concept but I would've liked more pink pepper, love the aroma of it in beer.

Tap at MadKert, courtesy of the crew. Deep mahogany pour, no head. Nose is huge walnut and booze, light vanilla and dried fruits with a faint hint of chocolate. Taste is also big on the walnut with a lot of bourbon notes, booze, caramel and dried fruits. Closes with a sweet, nutty and boozy finish, has a huge, thick and oily body and close to zero carbonation. Lovely.

Tap at Mad Kert. Hazy, murky orange pour, thin head. Nose is intense tropical fruits, passion fruit and mango, a touch of pineapple too. Light grassy notes. Taste is moderately bitter with a light to mid sweetness, showing the same fruity notes as the aroma. Closes with a fruity, somewhat sweetish, warming finish, has a medium body and soft carbonation.

Can at home, courtesy of the Mad crew. Pours hazy, murky orangeish golden with a white head. Nose is intense, fruity, zesty, grassy hops with a touch of tutti frutti. Taste is also rather fruity up first, but then it takes an unexpectedly spicy turn, which is pretty surprising on the one hand, and as it turns out, on the other hand it’s not really my cup of tea: it becomes overwhelming in the finish. It has a medium to big, somewhat creamy body and soft carbonation. A decent, well made beer, but the hop variety doesnt really work for me apparently.

Can at work, courtesy of the MS crew. Pours murky golden with a handsome white head. Nose is intense sweet tropical fruits, honeydew cand and candied fruits. Taste is sweetish, showing citrus zest, tropical fruits, stone fruits and candied orange zest. Closes with a sweet, slightly sticky finish, has a medium to full, creamy body and soft carbonation. Well done.

Can at home, courtesy of the MS crew. Pours opaque golden with no head. Nose is burnt plastic and glue on top of some banana and chocolate. Taste is sweet, boozy, banana, light chocolate, barely and acidic character. Taste is sweet booze, lactose, some banana, chocolate and cookies, pretty messy. Way too sweet and boozy as well. This was a huge disappointment, not gonna lie.

Bottle at home. Pours semi opaque reddish with a quickly dissipating head. Nose is sweet mainly, it shows lots of bourbon, lactose, light oak and vanilla and fruits underneath. Taste is also rather sweet, boozy with a distinct bourbon character, also lactose and tart fruits although not in a quite sophisticated way. It leans towards sweet but there’s some tartness for balance. Closes with a tart and sweet finish, has a big body and soft carbo. Not bad at all, just quite rough all in all.
