Description
DEYA Brewing Company is an independent brewery in Cheltenham, UK. We focus on hoppy beers, lagers, traditional UK styles and mixed fermentation ales. We strive to make world class beer.
Theo founded DEYA in 2015 having become obsessed with American beer and beer culture. In January 2016, Theo picked up the keys to a 4,000ft2 industrial unit in Cheltenham. Once the 10bbl brewery kit was installed, the burgeoning DEYA team dedicated themselves to producing the most delicious pale ales, IPAs and hoppy beers that they could. In 2017, following more national and international acclaim, brewing capacity is doubled with the addition of three 40HL fermentation vessels. In March 2018, a 1000 cans per hour canning line was purchased to complement the four new 40HL fermentation vessels that were to be added in October. This move takes capacity to 3,500HL. In 2019 year we are expanding into a new 25,000 sq/ft premises and installing a bespoke 40hl 4 vessel brewhouse allowing us to significantly increase capacity.
We take a holistic approach to business, striving to be the best employer we possibly can be, while operating in a fair, sustainable and human driven way.

Keg draught at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark and murky gold with a small uneven white head and lots of chalky lacing. Malt aroma dominates with notes of vanilla, peach cobbler, grassy notes. Sweet taste, lots more malt, light ler stone fruit and touches of sweeter citrus. Full body with carbonation tones down. Oooh. Yes. So much going on here. Love it.

(Can) Hazy golden yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of dried pineapple, sponge cake, mango, grapefruit, honey and rosemary. Fruity, hoppy nose with dried pineapple, citrus peel, mango, grapefruit, honey, pine needles, white bread and a generous herbal/piney bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Fresh, hoppy and juicy. Very nice.

500ml can from Left Field Beer, Solihull and shared at Bennyโs Place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, lime, coconut. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a fresh, coconut, lime, pineapple, dry, light floral, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

500ml can from the brewery. Murky golden, big frothy white head. Aroma of sweet stone fruits and lychee, papaya. Taste seems to be quite peachy too, big stone fruit character, tropical lychee, papaya, guava, fairly sweet, almost no bitterness. Medium bodied, very soft and smooth. Good stuff, not sure it's any better than the OG version, mainly on account of the noticeable sweetness.
And I do hope Deya reveal the hop used. My guess is PeSHarine given the massive stone fruit character, but could also be Peacharine given how slow Deya sometimes are on the uptake.

500ml can from the brewery. Pours hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma of orange and grapefruit, sweet ripe tropical fruits, mild herbal. Taste is slightly sweet, tropical, mango, orange and grapefruit, some pine and a light dank notes, fairly low bitterness. Medium bodied.
I was hoping for a classic westie here but it's essentially typical Deya haze with hops you'd see in a WC IPA. I can understand why some are disappointed - I am too - but I think it's still a good beer, but yes I do wish they went old school here. Huge missed opportunity, could've been a wonderful homage to Odell's classic IPA.
