Description
DEYA Brewing Company is an independent brewery in Cheltenham, UK. We focus on hoppy beers, lagers, traditional UK styles and mixed fermentation ales. We strive to make world class beer.

Theo founded DEYA in 2015 having become obsessed with American beer and beer culture. In January 2016, Theo picked up the keys to a 4,000ft2 industrial unit in Cheltenham. Once the 10bbl brewery kit was installed, the burgeoning DEYA team dedicated themselves to producing the most delicious pale ales, IPAs and hoppy beers that they could. In 2017, following more national and international acclaim, brewing capacity is doubled with the addition of three 40HL fermentation vessels. In March 2018, a 1000 cans per hour canning line was purchased to complement the four new 40HL fermentation vessels that were to be added in October. This move takes capacity to 3,500HL. In 2019 year we are expanding into a new 25,000 sq/ft premises and installing a bespoke 40hl 4 vessel brewhouse allowing us to significantly increase capacity.

We take a holistic approach to business, striving to be the best employer we possibly can be, while operating in a fair, sustainable and human driven way.

Keg at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours rich brown with a tight, creamy beige cap. Great aroma, lots of milk chocolate, smooth roast, coffee. Light to medium sweet flavour with nicely rounded chocolate character, subtle ashy bitterness, hints of raspberry. Medium bodied with delicate carbonation. Balanced I bush, with faint roasty rubber, bittersweet cocoa, creamy milk chocolate, subtle scorched earth. Solid overall.

Keg at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours murky yellow-gold with a tight, creamy white head. The nose has some peach, pulpy citrus, tangerine. Light sweet flavor with a pleasant raw intensity about the hops, mellow bitterness, some rind, nectarine, more citrus fruits. Light bodied with average carbonation. Reasonably juicy on the finish, with more fleshy citrus fruits, melon, peach, low bitterness. Great stuff.

500ml can from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham, only 5 days old. Pours a hazy orange brown colour with a one to two finger white head, good retention. Aroma: coriander seed, vanilla, orange peel, wheat. Taste: spicy earthy coriander seed most prominent, followed by citrusy pithy orange peel, wheat malt, yeast, banana and clove, hint of vanilla, finish is herbal and orange peel, with a pleasant hop bitterness. Light-medium bodied, average carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Very refreshing and incredibly easy drinking, perfect in the hot weather. Easily one of the best British-made witbiers.

Keg at Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Very murky opaque brownish orange colour with a small off white head, good retention. Aroma is tropical fruity, sweetish vanilla like notes, bready malt. Taste is the same but a bit muted, not as intense as I expected, sweet with a very light bitterness. Body is light, carbonation soft. Good, easy drinking, but not their best.

Keg at Deya Taproom 22/12/2017 with Fin and Loz. Been a while since I last has this and it's even better than I remember it from a can. Murky orange colour, the same tropical fruity flavours, pine, and light malts, well balanced sweet and bitter notes. Incredibly drinkable. It remains one of their best beers in my opinion. 02/06/2017: 500ml can. Hazy orange colour with a one finger creamy white head, great retention and lacing on the glass. Aroma: tropical fruits, mango, pine. Taste: juicy tropical fruits, mango, grapefruit, guava, pine, malt and yeast. Well balanced with a light sweetness and a light bitter finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. Highly drinkable and very moreish. Outstanding.
