Greige head, reduced, over near-black beer. Moss, coffee, chocolate, olives, mineral. Dry, black chocolate, ureum, dark green leaves. Not quite like ganache as expected, had to wait for the finish to have peppery cherry popping up. Full bodied, rather low carbonation. This is a stout like a stout ought to be. But where were the cherries? Thanks to M&L!

12oz can pours an oily, opaque black with lots of mocha head. Big nose, malt and toast and cracked grains, there's a deep candy sugar thing that feels more Belgian than maple, burnt toffee. Flavor has that candy feel, maple now too, malt, heavy black licorice, raisinette, some prune even. Full bodied, sticky finish.

Hazy yellow with a thick white head. Aroma of dry malt, wet hops. Taste has green wood, sweetened malt note. Palate has wet, earthy nose note, juniper. Mild hops. Good.

Can on the train home, 68010, 12/12/19. Golden amber with a decent off white head. Nose is orange pith, grass, ripe tropical fruits, melon, pine resin, toasted malts, pineapple. Taste comprises sweet malts, bitter orange, pine, caramel, pineapple chunks, light weed, papaya. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with grassy come juicy hop bitterness with a light rising boost offered. Decent DIPA.

Taster pour on tap at NH Brewfest. Appearance is deeply hazy light brown-dark yellow, trace sparkle and thin ring of off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit-pine-citrus bitterness though underlying sweet fruit and caramel/bready malt. Taste is a grapefruit and pine moderate bitter bite with slight citrus, balanced by the sweet malt and a hint of herb. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, more bitter piney than I'd like but strong flavors, aroma decent balance. Quite good, especially those liking beers that are more bitter, but not transcendent. 3.8ish.

Taster pour on tap at NH Brewfest. Appearance is lightly hazy piss yellow (not unattractive--almost highlighter yellow) with light sparkle, thin covering of white foamy head. Aroma is very strong citrus, grapefruit, pine. Taste is like aroma--strong grapefruit, with piney resin bitterness, less citrus. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thin, smooth, frothy texture, lively kick of carbonation at the end and finish as taste with a lingering piney resin bitterness. Overall, it's strong all around--strong aroma and flavor and you can tell there's some booze here but not harsh. 4.0 ish

Tap, at Lawson’s. Mostly clear, deep orange gold. Fine, dense swirl of leggy, white head. Nose is big on the stewed citrus hop. Marmalade. Minty herb. Candied peel. All that sweet stuff. Taste has plenty of sweetness, predictably, but a slightly alcoholic, oily bitterness balances things out. Medium body. Plenty oily. Fine carbonation. Lingering stewed fruit bitterness to finish.
