Description
Pure Project is a small batch, ingredient-centric craft brewery with a mission to build community and a reverence for beer as an agricultural product by staying true to our ethos of quality ingredients, sustainability, and attention to detail.
To us, beer is art.
We believe every beer should tell a story; just like a world class meal, a perfect cup of coffee or a timeless wine, and we aim to bring that same level of passion, creativity and artistry to the ever evolving craft beer community.
We look forward to sharing our art with that movement by providing an experiential brand to give context to the beer in your glass.

Bright gold. Looks great. Clean, medium bitterness, woody notes, and a fairly sweet malt signature that isn’t sticky.

Dark brown, rich almond, marzipan, chocolate nose. Boozy finish, definitely big on the marzipan. The alcohol cuts through the richness a bit. Could use some barrel to round it out, let the sugars express themselves a bit more.

Cloudy pale, thin head. Stone fruit aroma, buggy and maybe not quite clean. It’s clean on the palate though. Lots of tart stone fruit. Light brett, plenty of acidity. Decent.

Dark brown. Rich barrel aroma, with lots of molasses, beautiful umami - the finest barrel-aged soy sauce. Some fruitiness, with the barrel layered over it. A wonderful showcase of both age and barrel.

16.9 oz. bottle, pours jet black, almost no head. Nose is complex as hell, with complex, slightly smoky, intense bourbon barrels, smoked meat, deep malts (somewhat roasted), and subtle molasses. Flavour is extremely rich, with deep bourbon barrels, some smoked meat, vanillin, and dark sugars. Not too sweet—the sugars are well-attenuated. Excellent barrel blend.

Poured from 500mL bottle (batch 4; bottled 11/2025). Near black with almost no beige head. Soft woody bourbon, chocolate malt, light fudge, comes together nicely.

500mL bottle. Pours black with almost no head. Tons of rich bourbon barrels on the nose, good charring, dark sugars. Flavour has tons of really dark sugars, burnt sugars, deep bourbon barrel character, some hints of dark fruits from the bourbon barrels. Rich and malt forward with an excellent barrel character. Fantastic.

On tap at the Pizza Store by OC Local on 20th April 2026. Asked for a pint, but the beer died half way through the pour and splattered the young lady at the tap. I got the half for free and she got a decent tip! So the last of the barrel. It poured an opaque golden orange, the head obviously pretty big because of the gas trying to pump out the remains of the liquid within the barrel. Anyway I thought this a fine hazy IPA with plenty going on in the taste, citrus flavours mostly, but some resinous piney notes too.
