Keg at Steel City 49, Kelham Island - Orangey gold, thin lasting froth. Lots of orangey hops, citrus rind and a bit of pithy bitterness. Real easy going.

Tastes like a slight bit of coriander, but I'm sure it's not. Close to a Goslar Gose, with a definite Köln-style lightness and soft, prominent hop presence.

Can from Against The Grain (Koel It Cryo Citra). Hazy deep golden body with an off-white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of orange and grapefruit peel. Flavour of funky yeast and orange pith. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Tangy and tasty.

Can from Against The Grain. Hazy pale golden body with a white head that fades quickly. Fine carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of cereal and shortbread. Flavour of grass and floral hops. Thin to medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Light fizz. Light and slightly sweet. It’s fine but not as good as most other SMOD lagers.

Can from Ebenezers, Nantwich – drank at home. Pours dark chocolate with minimal, transient off-white head. The aroma is mainly smoked meat with hints of toffee and caramel. In the mouth it has a strong smoky texture with plenty of malts and parkin, plus traces of herbs, toffee, grass and salty bacon. Finish is more malty than smoky. Decent enough but I was expecting something a bit more special.

Can at home picked up from HOTM. A mahoghany brown coloured pour with a decent loose kjaki head. Aroma is semi sweet, brown sugars, earthy smoke, birch smoke, metal, thatch. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, layered malts, twig, birch wood smoke, salt, light metalic, Palate is semi sweet, little thin, mellow carbonation, Good, doesn't quite stick the landing.

Can from Hops at Home. Pours clear ruby with a thick off-white head. Aromas of smoked meat, toffee, caramel, and hay. Taste is sweet toffee, grassy and smoked meat. Clean finish.
